Simply open the top of the washer by inserting a putty knife (watch YouTube ) and then the front panel by removing two bottom philips head screws on the front. The whole front panel comes right off. Using pliers the spring clams holding each hose, they come off and each hose is replaced. The drain one was only leaking but since it has open I changed both and even the drive belt. Whole job less than 1 hour. BTW parts arrived next day!

The agitator stopped functioning and there was a squeaking sound occurring in agitation mode. I found that if I cranked down on the agitator cap, screwing in as hard as I could, the agitator would work briefly, then the cap would loosen and agitator stop moving. I removed the agitator cap, along with which came the agitator stud cap and a rubber washer/seal which was jammed up into the underside of the cap. The seal at the bottom of the tub had started to fail. On large loads water would leak so I ordered a new one rubber seal. Getting the trunnion off the transmission shaft was hard as it was calcified and corroded. I used a wire brush to get some of it off and then used a lot of WD-40. The bolt holding the trunnion plate on sheared off when I tried to remove it on one side and the other came out ok (the bolt hole through the trunnion is not threaded so it should slide out once the plate is off...

This is a transmission assembly for washing machines. The transmission assembly is the gearbox in the washing machine's motor that allows the washing machine to work at different speeds and different intensities. If the washing machine is no longer spinning properly and has lost its normal level of washing power, it could mean that the transmission assembly needs to be replaced. Luckily, replacing this part is not as difficult as it might seem at first glance.To replace the transmission assembly, begin by unplugging the washing machine. The first step is to remove the upper control panel. Pull forward on the bottom of the console and remove the two retaining clips as well as the harness connector to the lid switch. Using a flathead screwdriver remove the clips. After this, remove the entire cabinet from the back panel to gain access to the interior of the washer. Remove the 7/16 bolt from the agitator and pull it straight up to remove it from the shaft. Once completed, gain access to the motor and pump and remove by releasing the screws and tabs that attach it. Remove the wire harness attached to the transmission. Remove the bolts that secure the motor mount to the transmission and proceed to pull the old transmission out of its place. Install the new transmission and reassemble the other parts.This genuine OEM replacement part is compatible with Frigidaire, Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Westinghouse washers. First attempt was to replace the door latch mechanism...didn't fix it.
Kept researching and the washer control knob had been hard to turn so it seemed logical that was the problem. Also, at some point the end cap had broken. As it has the main grounding point inside it and as I was taking the control panel apart anyway it made sense to replace it.

This washer switch is both the lid lock and lid switch. New mounting bracket replaces older design. Which means in some applications you may need to drill off old design mounting bracket prior to mounting the new lock. I unplugged the power source to the appliance. I unscrewed 2 screws and unplugged the lid switch.
I replaced the old switch with the new switch and screwed in the same 2 screws that held the old
