The trunnion is the hub that mounts the washer's inner tub to the drive shaft. Replacing a worn hub restores a solid, centered connection so the basket spins smoothly without wobble, slip, or grinding. What it does:
- Secures and centers the spin basket on the drive shaft for balanced rotation
- Transfers drive torque to the inner tub during spin
- Helps maintain basket alignment to reduce vibration
- Typical symptoms of failure: loose/wobbly tub, scraping or grinding noises, poor or no spin, frequent out-of-balance events
What's included:
Install notes:
- Disconnect power and water before service; wear gloves and eye protection
- Access the hub by removing top/access parts, then the agitator/wash plate and inner-tub fasteners
- Clean the shaft and mating surfaces; seat the new trunnion fully and tighten fasteners evenly in a crisscross pattern
- Inspect related parts (tub seal, bolts, bearing) while open and replace if worn; run a short test cycle to ensure smooth spin

Leaking washer tub Hugh S. • Miami , FL • June 25, 2016
The seal at the bottom of the tub had started to fail. On large loads water would leak so I ordered a new one rubber seal. Getting the trunnion off the transmission shaft was hard as it was calcified and corroded. I used a wire brush to get some of it off and then used a lot of WD-40. The bolt holding the trunnion plate on sheared off when I tried to remove it on one side and the other came out ok (the bolt hole through the trunnion is not threaded so it should slide out once the plate is off...

Dryer had stopped heating Ron B. • Saint Augustine , FL • June 29, 2018
Replaced the dryer heater, and for good measure the limit and thermostat switches.
My whole experience with Appliance Parts Pros was exceptional. I had a few questions to which the pros went out of there way to get the answers I needed. They also sent me the service manual which had step by step illustrations on how to disassemble the dryer. Saved a lot of time.

The agitator was not working John H. • Auburn , NY • October 11, 2016
The agitator stopped functioning and there was a squeaking sound occurring in agitation mode. I found that if I cranked down on the agitator cap, screwing in as hard as I could, the agitator would work briefly, then the cap would loosen and agitator stop moving. I removed the agitator cap, along with which came the agitator stud cap and a rubber washer/seal which was jammed up into the underside of the cap. I lifted out the agitator from the drum and inspected it and the hub best I could....

Frigidaire laundry center not agitating goes through whole wash process including spin cycle no agitation Keith Y. • Murrieta , CA • February 19, 2016
Replaced transmission. If you have a laundry center like me, you don't have alot of space. Replacing the parts want difficult. Just limited space made it harder. Also couldn't find a removal video for one of these but using a video for a frigidaire stand alone washer ouput me in the ball park and figured it out from there. Appliance parts pros had the best process too!

Washer wouldn't run but as dryer did it obviously wasn't a circuit breaker E James W. • Wilmington , NC • September 29, 2014
First attempt was to replace the door latch mechanism...didn't fix it.
Kept researching and the washer control knob had been hard to turn so it seemed logical that was the problem. Also, at some point the end cap had broken. As it has the main grounding point inside it and as I was taking the control panel apart anyway it made sense to replace it.

My washer started banging bad on the spin cycle and i would have to force the top open rearange the load and then it would work to finish after further review it was the springs David H. • Englewood , FL • April 06, 2018
Watched a few of your videos and ordered the springs and a insert, and actually got the parts right. I am not a Appliance repair guy but I am retired and I am pretty handy so I thought what the heck. I watched the videos, a lot of common sense, common tools, and plenty of time. My knuckles are busted up and a little blood, but I got it done. Was actually kind of rewarding. Works like a champ. The Videos, ARE AWESOME.

Loud screaming grinding noise on spin cycle Mike K. • West Palm Beach , FL • October 24, 2018
I like fixing things and I like my 15 year old Frigidaire GLWS1649AS2, so I wanted to fix it. What I discovered, apart from what's seen in the videos: I went through all the research and started taking apart the machine thinking I needed a new spin bearing and wanting to see if and what I could do. I was willing to find I couldn't do anything, buy a new machine and trash this one. I thought I'd play it safe and also planned on the tub seals. Once I got the tubs out (the point at which I...

My 20 year old frigidaire stackable washer needed the lid switch replaced so it would trigger the spin cycle Maryann S. • Owosso , MI • March 13, 2014
I unplugged the power source to the appliance. I unscrewed 2 screws and unplugged the lid switch.
I replaced the old switch with the new switch and screwed in the same 2 screws that held the old
switch in place and plugged the new lid switch back in under the lid. that's it . I plugged in the washer
and started a load of clothes. works just fine. NO HUGE REPAIR BILL. Gosh it makes me happy to
do such a simple repair to my old machine and for a very reasonable part price, my washer is...
