This capacitor stores and releases electrical energy to support the appliance's circuit during startup and operation. Replacing a weakened capacitor can restore reliable performance and reduce humming, hard starting, or stalling in the affected component.
- Provides a power boost at startup and helps stabilize voltage during operation
- Helps the connected component start promptly and operate smoothly under load
- Common failure signs include humming, slow or no start, or intermittent operation
- Contribute to overheating or a tripped breaker/fuse when the component tries to start
What's included: One capacitor. Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the appliance. Before handling, safely discharge the old capacitor using a proper resistor-rated tool.
- Photograph or note wire positions; move each lead to the same-labeled terminal on the new capacitor and ensure snug connections.
- Mount the capacitor securely in its bracket; keep terminals covered and clear of metal surfaces.

Loud clicking from the back of my refrigerator Randy W. • Granbury , TX • March 04, 2015
Research question lead to others that had the same issue. Consensus lead to a common repair. Compressor overload switch going bad. After ordering the correct parts, I changed out both the switch and the motor start capacitor just in case. After cleaning the equipment, I then put everything back together. Results were, clicking gone, seems to be quieter operation because of cleaning, more efficient cooling and nerves calmed.

The flap that closes over the ice chute wasn’t closing completely. The warm air is drawn into the chute creating frost. Robert C. • Springfield , VA • September 25, 2022
I watched the video attached to the part schematic for the three parts that work the chute - there is a small motor/actuator and the flap itself (which includes the spring, so really didn’t need to order the spring additionally).
The hardest part was getting the cover off - I put tape all around the outside of the edge on the refrigerator to avoid scratching it and then used pry tools I have for automotive repairs (pulling off trim and panels) and was able to get it out without a problem....

Part Number: 5988JA1001H
This is a complete refrigerator ice maker assembly that automatically forms, freezes, and ejects ice cubes into the bin. It restores consistent ice production when the original ice maker stops cycling or no longer makes ice. What it does
- Freezes water in its mold, then harvests and ejects cubes into the ice bucket each cycle
- Controls fill and harvest timing and signals the water inlet valve during the fill portion of the cycle
- Stops ice production when the bin is full via its shutoff mechanism
- Typical failure symptoms: no ice, intermittent/low ice output, or cubes not ejecting
What's included
Install notes
- Disconnect power and turn off the household water supply before servicing
- Remove the ice bin; loosen mounting screws, disconnect the wire harness, and swap in the new assembly in the same position
- Inspect and clear the fill tube of any ice blockage before reconnecting
- Restore power and water; allow the unit to reach operating temperature and begin cycling

Part Number: ACM73079207
This controller assembly is the appliance's main electronic control that manages cycles and user inputs to restore proper control operation. Replace a failing controller assembly to address unresponsive controls, incorrect cycle behavior, or intermittent errors. What it does:
- Manages cycle selection, timing, and communication between sensors and motors to coordinate appliance operation.
- Interprets user inputs from the front panel and sends commands to other components.
- Failure may cause unresponsive buttons, unexpected error codes, stalled or incorrect cycles, or an appliance that won't start.
- Replacing the assembly often resolves control-board–related faults when diagnostics point to the main controller.
What's included: One controller assembly. Install notes:
- Disconnect power (unplug or switch off breaker) before removing the old assembly to avoid shock or damage.
- Handle the board and connectors carefully; avoid static discharge and cradle the assembly by its edges.
- Match the replacement to the exact part number and transfer any brackets, grounding straps, or button housings as needed.

Cooling Fan quite working and refrig gave an ERROR CODE CF Michael C. • West Manchester , OH • March 12, 2014
Removed the old fan housing. Removed the fan from its housing and took the fan blade off. I then smelled the fan and it smelt of burnt insulation. I ordered a new fan and re-assembled in reverse order. Fan started up when compressor fired up. Fan was a plug & play item. Erroe Code cleared on the front and refrig is working fine. Only thing was the fan was not identical with the old one. It fit in the enclosure the same and the shaft was the same length. My old fan was 10 years old and they...

This motor support damper sits between the refrigerator's compressor and base to absorb vibration and movement. Replacing a worn damper helps quiet rattles and humming from the back of the cabinet and keeps the compressor properly supported.
- Cushions the compressor to reduce transmitted vibration and noise
- Helps quiet humming, buzzing, or rattling from the lower rear of the refrigerator
- Maintains proper compressor alignment and support on the base pan
- Common signs of wear: increased vibration/noise, a cracked or flattened damper, or noticeable compressor movement when running
What's included: One motor support damper. Install notes:
- Unplug the refrigerator and pull it forward to access the rear; allow the compressor to cool before working
- Support the compressor to remove load from the mount before loosening hardware
- Replace the damper and tighten mounting hardware evenly without over-compressing the rubber
- Avoid bending or stressing refrigerant tubing; wear gloves and eye protection
Note: Many models use multiple dampers at the compressor feet—check your parts diagram to confirm the quantity required.
