Symptoms that you might need to adjust the door hinges and potentially need this wrench include:
- Doors not closing properly or sealing tightly

Ice and water would not come out. Walter J. • El Cajon , CA • June 14, 2020
Ice and water would not come out from dispenser on my Kenmore elite fridge freezer.
This is because.when you press the glass against the cover to get ice or water
there is a micro switch that goes bad.
To remove the cover, slide the bottom of the cover left or right to remove the cover.
Be careful not to lose spring on the back of the cover.
There is one screw that holds the microswitch in place.
Remove and replace micro switch and then in reverse out the parts back in.

GE monogram range hood lights did not work. Kenmore refrigerator water dispenser would not shut off. Mark W. • Belair , MD • January 11, 2020
Refrigerator was easy. Simply replaced the activator switch that was sticking. The range hood was a little more difficult. I had replaced the switch years ago but it still didn’t work. So I took on the challenge of replacing the transformer. That was difficult to get to but once replaced and reassembled the lights work fine.

LG refrigerator intermittently leaking lots of water into refrigeration compartment. Donald M. • Sarasota , FL • October 12, 2023
After much troubleshooting, I narrowed the leak down to either the filter head or the water supply line. So I changed them both. Changing them was fairly easy, about an hour job for each, not counting testing. No special tools or special setups required.
The refrigerator manual is not clear about removing/replacing the water filter. In spite of what it says, the top shelf under the filter MUST be removed when changing the water filter. If you don't pull the filter all the way down, you...
