So I read a number of the earlier posts regarding the required repairs and went forward with all those repairs. In short, I replaced the wiring harness, door switches, and bulbs. The problem still persisted so I went ahead and replaced the control board. That did the trick. So for my unit, LG LFX25960ST replacing all those components were required. After some research I choose to replace the Controller Assembly. This resides in the freezer and is attached to the evaporator. First I had to take out the ice maker (easy 3 screws) next I had to remove the back panel on the freezer. Lg Kenmore refrigerator model # 795.79309.901. I wasn't sure the switch for the freezer light also controlled the display led lights inside the refrigerator. I had the repair manual but it was not much good as it did not answer this question.
