The Gasket is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This gasket ensures an airtight seal around the door, preventing cool air from escaping and warm air from entering. It's crucial for maintaining the refrigerator's internal temperature and ensuring efficient operation.
Causes of a bad gasket can range from normal wear and tear over time to accidental damage, such as pulling or stretching when cleaning. Replacing a worn or damaged gasket is essential to ensure your refrigerator runs efficiently and to avoid spoiled food or increased energy costs.
Symptoms of a bad gasket include:
- Noticeable gaps or tears in the gasket itself
- Difficulty in keeping the refrigerator temperature consistent
- Increased energy bills due to the refrigerator working harder to maintain its temperature
- Condensation or frost buildup inside the refrigerator
This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Broken water dispenser Joe G. • Advance , NC • March 12, 2016
The part I ordered was correct replacement. A little difficult to remove the old part from the refrigerator door. Wound up using a screwdriver to pry it out. However the install was basic and went very well. Overall very satisfied with Appliance Parts.

Code if ice maker fan failure, fan ran a few seconds shut off then code came in Matthew D. • Howard Beach , NY • June 13, 2021
It was suggested to replace both the fan/motor assembly and main circuit board since one can ruin the other. I replaced both the main control board and ice fan motor assembly as per the very well detailed instructional video by Appliance Parts Pros. Although the job was just part changing, the video saved much frustration trying to figure out how to access the fan/motor assembly. This motor is not merely a directly driven 120V motor, it is an-electronically driven motor by the control board and...

Lower freezer door would not stay shut turns out a shaft with gears was missing from initial install Bruce M. • New River , AZ • August 08, 2016
Ordered the parts, which was a pair of ice gears and the bar that connects them. Had to refer to upper freezer drawer to figure out how the gears fit into the rails. Turns out they snap into a plastic hub that is riveted on the rail. Took some effort to finally get them to snap on. At first it seemed like they would not fit. Really had to apply force to get them to go on. Then added bar, which seems to me to be slightly short in length. It works, but I think if any tension is put on it,...

What's included: One upper hinge assembly. Install notes:
