Incorrect parts given to me upon purchase of appliance Marnie S. • Kennewick , WA • March 08, 2018
Needed installation parts. I ordered the parts from the company I purchased the appliances from. A week went by and no parts, called, emailed and called again to find out when the parts would arrive to be able to Re-schedule the installation. After the run around, I found AppliancePartsPros website and placed my order with them. I received the parts I needed within the time they promised. I was able to schedule my installation to enjoy my new appliance. It's been almost 4 weeks and still no...

Microwave door won't stay closed or latch? This door latch spring provides tension to secure the door shut. DIY repair in under 10 minutes with video help.
Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You
Lg microwave door would not latch closed Audrey S. • Rochester , NY • February 05, 2018
Ordered door latch part and new spring.
You Tube video helped me identify what I needed. I tried the fix recommended and it didn't work so I ordered the parts. It took less than 5 minutes to switch out the old for the new. If the door doesn't latch, you can't run the microwave and it's key. It wasn't an expensive or hard fix to get my microwave up and running again. So pleased with AppliancePartsPros for having what I needed and being reasonable about pricing. Turnaround time was excellent!

This is a micro switch that detects whether the microwave door is properly closed and latched. It is part of the safety interlock system that prevents the microwave from operating with the door open. Replace this switch if the microwave does not start when the door is shut, runs with the door open, blows a fuse when the door closes, or stops mid-cycle intermittently.

Interior light and turntable failed at the same moment. Stacey B. • New Bern , NC • February 01, 2021
Knowing the odds of 2 failures occurring at the same exact time was unusually high, I just searched your site for what other broken items might affect these two failures. Came up with next control item upstream and tallied that item failure with percentages of successful repairs, (4 mins.) door safety switch.
Since I had to change out the most likely of the 3 and since I was already was going to be into the switch panel I ordered all 3 and swapped them all out to cover my butt, as they were...

Microwave turntable would not spin Charles B. • Uniontown , PA • November 23, 2014
Removed 8 screws from bottom panel on microwave. Pulled two prong plug off old motor. Read supplied voltage off motor decal and tested for it. Deemed motor to be bad and changed it. Works great. After tearing old motor apart it seems a liquid got in there from inside microwave. No seal on motor. Bad design flaw in my opinion.

Microwave would not microwave Richard E. • Cape Coral , FL • January 05, 2020
Replaced the Humidity sensor, Thermistor and door switches. I replaced these thinking the problem was one of the items but didn't want to trial and error one part at a time. Plus the cost was reasonable so if these didn't help I wasn't out a lot of money. I sense the door switch was the problem. Replaced all items and the microwave works great. Thanks for the advice and the cost of the parts.

This thermostat is a temperature-sensitive safety switch used in LG microwaves. It monitors internal temperature and opens the circuit when overheating is detected to help protect components from heat damage.
- Monitors temperature at its mounting location inside the microwave
- Opens on overtemperature to interrupt power for safety
- Depending on model/location, a failed or open thermostat can cause no heat, the unit shutting off mid-cycle, or no power until it cools
- Helps prevent damage to the magnetron, cavity, and wiring due to overheating
What's included: 1 thermostat Install notes:
- Unplug the microwave before service; the high-voltage capacitor can retain a dangerous charge
- Note wire positions, remove mounting screws, and install the new thermostat flat against the surface for proper heat sensing
- Reassemble and test; ensure vents and filters are clear to maintain proper airflow and prevent future overheating

Thermistor is a temperature-sensing replacement that monitors refrigerator and freezer temperatures so the control board can regulate cooling. Replacing a faulty thermistor restores accurate temperature readings and helps stabilize cooling performance. What it does:
- Senses interior/evaporator temperature and sends a signal to the control board for temperature regulation.
- Helps prevent erratic cooling, long run-times, or inconsistent compartment temperatures when operating correctly.
- Faulty thermistors can contribute to excessive frost, failed defrost cycles, or compressor cycling issues.
- Use when the existing sensor fails to report correct temperatures or the part number matches.
What's included: One thermistor sensor. Install notes:
- Always disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid shock or damage.
- The sensor is typically mounted on or near the evaporator or inside a cabinet wall; access may require removing panels or covers.
- Handle the sensor and wiring harness gently; avoid pulling on wires or bending the sensor element.

This magnetron is the high-voltage tube that produces the microwave energy used to heat food in a countertop microwave. Replacing a failing magnetron restores normal heating performance and stops weak or no-heat conditions. What it does
- Generates microwave energy that heats food inside the oven cavity
- Stops microwave from heating when the tube fails or output is reduced
- May be the cause of loud humming, arcing, or burning smells during operation
- Works with the oven's high-voltage system and waveguide to deliver even cooking
What's included
Install notes
- Disconnect power before servicing and discharge the high-voltage capacitor; high-voltage components can be lethal
- Inspect and retain any mounting hardware, gaskets, and the waveguide cover for proper reassembly
- Do not operate the oven with the waveguide cover or protective shielding removed

The microwave not heating. No error codes. David G. • Boca Raton , FL • March 16, 2024
Replaced the magnetron, capacitor and diode (note all tested ok with DVM tests), suspect magnetron was bad regardless). Also using previously purchased parts, replaced the 3 door switches, the humidity sensor and the damper switch as the convection feature had been dead for many years (error code F5, microware is a 17 year old Kenmore Elite). After replacing all parts microwave heats and convection works again. Saved the $900 that a new (lesser quality) convection microwave would have...

This is a truss-head tapping screw used to secure trim, panels, and small assemblies on compatible LG appliances. It provides a low-profile, wide-bearing head that helps hold parts flush and resist pull-through. What it does:
- Fastens plastic and sheet-metal components where a self-tapping thread is needed
- Truss head spreads load to prevent damage to soft or thin materials
- Helps secure control panels, brackets, or trim pieces that require a low-profile head
- Common replacement when original mounting screws are missing, stripped, or corroded
What's included:
- One truss-head tapping screw
Install notes:
- Use the correct screwdriver bit and moderate torque to avoid stripping the screw or workpiece
- Start threading straight and let the screw form threads without forcing at an angle
- Disconnect power and follow appliance-specific service safety procedures before working internally
- Replace any damaged mating threads or clips for a secure fit
