I spoke with the experts at parts pro and they suspected the main power board. I ordered the main power board along with the control panel. Since I was taking everything apart I decided to replace other components as well- thermostats, thermistor , sensor wire. When I was all done the old LG was back to working like new. After unplugging the dryer from the wall socket, I used a screwdriver ( Phillips ) to remove the
light cover fixture. This gave me access to the bulb which had burned out. I first use my fingers
to remove the bulb but the base came lose from the glass bulb. I then used a needle nose pliers

I loosened the control panel and flipped it forward to improve access to the wiring connectors.
