Evaporator fan noise William O. • Oakmont , PA • December 18, 2014
Removed refrigerator panel, disconnected light and fan power. Removed fan assembly and replaced motor, grommets and fan attachment spring. Unit had adhesive on spring to help hold the spring. Chatted with customer service and clarified that spring and fan would easily pull off motor shaft. Adhesive probably was extra measure used during original build of the fridge.
Noise was due to fan rubbing on housing. New fan position set to avoid any rubbing.

Plastic piece broke from bottom of freezer door wouldn't close or stay shut Shawn S. • Tampa , FL • September 05, 2015
Ordered the pieces from here. Downloaded the user manual. I never work on appliances but I couldn't justify the $200 a service tech would have charged to fix a $35 part. Followed the manual and removed the door. Replaced the broken plastic pieces. BE VERY CAREFUL not to strip the screws. I did and that's another story. Very easy to fix. You will need a second person to help guide the door back onto the frame.

Freezer door no longer shut properly. A common problem in Samsung side by sides. Richard W. • Bainbridge Island , WA • June 22, 2020
Replaced the upper and lower cam riser (plastic parts) on the lower hinge. APP's YouTube video was the reason I decided I could do this myself. My daughter helped. :)
Tip: replace both the upper and lower even though the lower usually breaks first. The upper will sustain damage from the jagged edges of the broken lower one. I also bought the replacements for the refrigerator side. They cost less than the freight charge and seems like they will fail eventually since they're the same...

The alarm was beeping constantly the ice maker did not work and the water did not dispense Rod F. • Grand Blanc , MI • December 27, 2019
I thought that I needed to repair the water supply. But it all looked OK. I had turned the power off for a few minutes hoping to clear any false info from the numerous power outages. And with hours of research, I found some info about the door switch on top of the freezer. It suggested placing a magnet above the switch to silence the noise. This did the trick. Shortly after I heard the ice maker filling. I tested the water feed, and it was working. I then ordered a new switch and replaced it....

Samsung refrigerator frosting up on refrigerator evaporator Diane T. • Gladwin , MI • April 17, 2017
I ordered a new defrost sensor and defrost fuse. I am a widow and had no clue how to fix a refrigerator but with your how to video's and research I was able to do it myself. One bit of advice the frost will adhere to the plastic panel so you must let it defrost itself before trying to remove that panel. If not panel will not come off.

The gears in the electric motor that opens the ice chute cover stripped out Sean D. • Fort Lauderdale , FL • February 05, 2016
Disassembly is a little tricky. First, with a #2 phillips screwdriver, remove the single screw to the left of the ice chute/water dispenser. You'll have to get down low and look up from underneath. Next, underneath on either side, there are little slots with arrows pointing to them. Take a small straight slot screw driver and insert in each slot while gently pulling on the clear ice chute. It will pop out bottom edge first. Keep pulling out and up. The whole screen will pop out. Let it hang by...

Flap on ice dispenser was loose Bruce B. • Corpus Christi , TX • March 12, 2019
I was buying a part for my other refrigerator and decided to replace the ice tray on my LG, as it was not emptying properly. When I found the part, I also saw a video attached to the ice dispenser parts. I had taped over the ice dispenser years ago and would just open the freezer for ice. Watched the video and they sure made it look easy to replace that flap, so I decided to give it a shot. I replaced the ice tray as soon as the parts came in, but did not have the time to tear off the front...

Called for repair and a tech told me the compressor was bad by simply touching the coils. A new one would be $1200. I did some research online, then pulled out my multimeter and found the compressor was good but the overload protector was bad. Replaced it inside an hour for about $25.

Freezer door handle broke on my Samsung. Ken P. • Spring Hill , FL • May 29, 2020
After receiving the part, I found I had to dismantle the left side of the handle in order to fix the right side that was broken.
When I took the left side of the handle off I found the plastic piece that broke on the right side was about to break on the left side also.
Having all the details and in advance of another broken handle, I ordered the part, just to have when it breaks.
