Samsung Dishwasher DMR78AHWXAA Parts

Based on the apparent relation to draining that I found on the internet I decided to open/unscrew the areas under the bottom rack where the water is pumped out. One obvious issue I observed was the drain check valve was turned and not functioning. It appeared to be swollen and stretched. Purchased a HEAVILY discounted damaged dishwasher from a big box appliance store. I looked up and purchased the part needed for door hinge damaged when shipped. I knew the price of part and delivery timing before I purchased the appliance. Brought home the dishwasher and the part arrived 2 days later just as promised and the correct part. I removed the dishwasher, put it on its side, used a needle nose plier to remove the snapped piece of leg and screwed the new one in. Read more

Pulled dishwasher out about half way to expose the spring and rope attachment points. Installed new ropes on both sides and set the spring at the adjustment notch for optimum tension and counterweight. Read more

After researching the Internet, I thought the drainage hoses were my problem. First I changed both drainage hoses. That didn’t solve the problem. I had to look for another area that was causing water to drip into the pan. I found water leaking from behind the brake assembly. Since I didn’t get an oE error code, I eliminated the brake assembly as causing my problem. I ordered a brake gasket and cover. Once I got it properly installed, problem solved! Read more

Deduced that the sound was coming from the blower in the front door. Removed old fan and found that the blades had warped and were hitting the housing. Replaced the blower assembly and all is good. For now. Read more

Removed dishwasher, laid two large towels on tile floor, laid dishwasher front door down on tiles, removed white access door (two screws) on bottom to expose hose connection. Then on left side facing front of dishwasher I had to remove door return spring from frame, two more screws and a metal cover. I went on line found the PE code and started troubleshooting. I ended up ordering a new circuit board, and the half-load motor and micro-switch. It turned out, I didn't need the circuit board. Replacing the motor and micro-switch solved the problem. The repair was very simple. I pulled out the dishwasher from under the counter, tipped it on its side and unscrewed the white plastic plate on the bottom. This exposed all the working parts of the dishwasher. I ordered 2 new springs and 2 new rope pulley assemblies from AppliancePartsPros. I found a youtube video to show how to make the repairs. I am 63 years old and have not done any repairs like this, but repair service for Samsung appliances is cost prohibitive. Since the dishwasher was 9 years old I figured if I screwed it up irretrievably I would just buy a new one. Fortunately I was able to make the repairs and the dishwasher works fine! Read more
