The unit had no power to any lights and the digital controls had no life. After a little Google research, I found the circuit and power board panel on the back of the refrigerator. With a Volt meter, I checked power at the input on the circuit board. It had 120V showing. On the output side to the circuit board there was nothing. After finding an excellent video on Youtube that addressed the exact problem I had, I ordered: a defrost heater and also replaced the Thermo Bimetal-Protec, and a sensor. The biggest problem was getting the ice that had formed on the back of my refrigerator to melt. I allowed this to happen on its own without applying heat as I feared heat may damage some of the plastic parts on the refrigerator. Not easy to figure out. Removed screws that appeared to hold the motor/fan/bracket in but it didn't budge (??). Watched a You Tube video but the guy's camera work wasn't too clear. I at least gathered that there was a plastic, one-way button/slide lock on the underside of bracket that holds the motor/fan assemby in.. Didn't make sense that once the button was pushed up with a screwdriver, the bracket would slide out (towards you) because there are rigid cooling lines that are in the way. ... Read more

Replaced ice maker assembly because ice was always presented like crushed ice instead of cubes. Still had icing issue, so hit reset and watched water as it cycled to fill ice tray. Water dripped from tube outside of nozzle. Pulled refrigerator away from wall and removed cover of water supply tube. The tube had broken into two pieces allowing water to slip past and drip into freezer compartment. Replaced tube in about 15 minutes and we have no icing issues anymore Read more
