Made by Bosch. Common program control module for Bosch dishwashers SHU53/68. NOTE The manufacturer has redesigned the cover and indicator lights. Lights may be covered by the plastic case. You may have to remove the square covers over the indicator lights if needed. The same case is used for 6 and 8 indicator light models. They also no longer use the red bulb indicator lights, small surface mounted lights are used instead. If you require the Jumper Wire that goes with certain models, the part number is 00167782.

Jerry A. for Model Number SHU5316 UC/11

I got a SHU 5316 Aug. 2000. It has stopped washing. I get the info shown when I press start. Open, Close Door, Press Start Program select: Cycle 1st Time 2nd Time Rinse & Hold 9 44 4 Del/Econco 2HR 82 43 Regular Wash (Not working for years) Scrub Wash 2HR 87 49 Power Scrub 2HR 87 49 The “2HR” shone is a delay time not a wash time. It fills with water, opens the soap compartment, heats and drains. The circulation motor appears to not be working. I do faintly hear what sounds like a timer motor running.

1 Answer

Hi Pam. This means the control module has timed out due to an unidentified heating problem. All heating related parts must be checked until the problem is found. If the dishwasher has not stopped washing the module is OK. If the dishwasher has stopped then it is timed -out. The N.T.C. sensor reads 55k ohms @72 degrees. The heater reads 11 ohms. the control module heater relay is working? The circulation pump reads 10 ohms. The flow switch reads .4 ohms. The high limit reads .3 ohms. The wiring harness is OK? You may however prove to get an authorized service technician to completely check all components. Thank you.

Jan for Model Number SHU5315UC/U11

loaded and closed the dishwasher and the plastic cover on the handle popped off. Now the dishwasher won't turn on at all. The part that popped off looks completely cosmetic and the door still latches closed. It did not trip the circuit breaker and is getting power. We tried to override the latch mechanism by triggering it to start with a screwdriver, but nothing. Does the control panel need replacing? Is that something we can do easily? Thanks! Thanks!

Hi Jan. If your door handle popped off, You will need lock assembly part # 00419827. You will need to use your old microswitches and put them into place in this new assembly. You can try to attempt this repair, but a certified technician may be helpful as this model has challenges getting to the part. Thank - you.

Henryk O for Model Number SHU6805UC/U12

Dishwasher does not count down, cycles do not get engaged. Makes buzzing noise when turned on (as if the pump starts up - but never shuts down as the clock stays on at the same number). If left on the counter would stay on at same number of minutes as long as the power is on. I posted a question before, long time ago, and did not hear back from you (you write that the answer is usually posted within minutes), so I posted the question again for the first one may have gotten lost. thanks henryk

HenryK, You need to check and make sure the water supply(usually under the kitchen sink) is open and water is supplied to the water inlet/fill valve 00425458 . Then check or replace the fill valve if the opening is clogged with debris. If the water inlet valve is clogged or inoperative, the component, can "buzz", and if the tub does not fill with water, the control will not advance. Thanks and Good Luck.

Henry, Are you sure there is water supplied to the dishwasher ? since the fill cycle is the first thing to occurr, when the dishwasher is "started", if there is no water from the shut off, or the fill valve assembly00425458 is clogged or has an interior failure the unit won't fill(usually has a buzz noise) and the control advance. Good Luck.
