Symptoms of a bad detergent dispenser assembly include:

  • Detergent not dispensing or distributing as intended
  • Dispenser door unable to close or remains open
  • Excess clutter inside the dishwasher
  • Ineffective cleaning or dirty dishes after cycles

This genuine OEM Bosch part is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau and select Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Bosch Detergent Dispenser Assembly (Part Number: OEM8407029)

John

I asked the question below: I have a Thermador dishwasher which appears to be manufactured by Bosch. What is the difference in Part Number: AP3844311 and Part Number: AP2802340. They appear identical except for the price. Thanks in advance. The reply was that they were identical in the picture. After disassembling the front panel, my version has two wiring harnesses. One as shown, and a second one that appears to go to the rinse dispenser. Any idea which is the appropriate model? Thanks,

John, It appears that part number 00490467 has 2 connections on it, one by the rinse dispenser and the other for the wax motor.

Hello Timothy! The correct dispenser replacement for your model number is part number 00645208. The manufacturer does not offer the dispenser lid separate from the dispenser assembly, thanks!

Christopher, With the dispenser door not opening, the most likely cause for this issue will be with the actuator part number 00166635.

Brian, This issue sounds like it could be caused by accidentally putting dish liquid in the rinse dispenser. What you can do is to put 1 table spoon of vegetable oil in the tub of the dishwasher and run a cycle. If after this the unit is still getting the suds at the end then the accidental dishsoap is the issue.

Fatman, You will want to check to make sure that you are not putting tall items on the side where the dispenser is located. If you are, this could cause the issue that you are having. The other thing that could cause this would be if there was a problem with the spray arms of the unit being clogged or cracked.
