1 Answer Dianne, With the door staying open all the time, the rinse aid would be coming out into the unit throughout the cycle. While it is best to replace it, this will not cause any issue other than using rinse aid quickly and if you do not want to use rinse aid then you would want to use a detergent with rinse aid in it already. 1 Answer Casey, You will want to try to move the plate and see if there is an issue with there being soap left. Normally if you put taller stuff in front of the dispenser it can cause this issue as the water is not getting to it to wash it out.
