Cindy July 01, 2019 for Model Number SHE53T52UC/07 Dishwasher drain pump continued to run long after cycle was done. The only way I could stop was to flip the breaker. So I cleaned the filter . ( Hardly anything in it ) . Replaced filter, flip breaker on. The control panel doesn’t work. I checked the door , didn’t find anything there. The drain pump starts again. What can I do .
1 Answer Cindy, you will want to turn the breaker off and inspect underneath the dishwasher tub and in between the tub and base. On the left hand side of the base section is a foam float that acts as a leak sensor and if water starts filling the base, it will shut the water valve off and only allow the drain pump to operate. If there is water in the base section, you will want to clear it out and inspect for where the water leak is originating. Read More...
Gabriel March 21, 2019 for Model Number SHX43C05UC/43 I have replaced my drain pump and still making a grinding noise during drain cycle. Water drains but this grinding noise is just terrible. What else could be doing this aside from the drain pump? Did I receive a defective pump?
1 Answer Gabriel, Check to make sure that there is nothing caught in the pump or the circulation pump and if not then you may have received a faulty pump. Read More...
Dkingsto October 07, 2017 for Model Number SHX46A05 UC/14 (FD 8406 01454) Bought Bosch 642239 Drain Pump replacement. The vane on the motor is different from the one I pulled off my machine - more blades on the new white one. Mine has a blue vane/gear with less blades. Installed it any way and the drain cycle works - I can pop the door open and see the impeller agitating the water at the drain. BUT the water is not getting pushed out of the machine. I removed the rubber backflow stop, I vacuumed the drain line clean and blew air back into it to make sure it was not obstructed - I held the door open to see air blowing into the machine - so the line to the sink is definitely clear. The machine will still not drain the water inside - it just gets blended around by the drain impeller and will not go through the drain line. (with or without backflow stop installed) Any ideas?
1 Answer DKingston, You will want to check for clogs in the drain line as this drain pump is showing to be the correct one for your unit. Read More...
Alan August 05, 2017 for Model Number Shx43c05uc/46 Dishwasher made a loud waterhammer like noise on starting and now will not drain.
1 Answer Alan, you most likely had/have a "hard" object in the sump assembly. It may have lodged in the drain pump inlet area and damaged the drain pump or impeller 00642239 / 00642239 and the dishwasher won't drain. " Remove power to the dishwasher. Remove toe kick/base cover, pull up terminal cover and disconnect wires (using screwdriver to unlock locking terminals). To remove pump, pull latch (on circular collar) & rotate pump clockwise (cw). To install new pump, insert @ 2:00 position & rotate counterclockwise (ccw). Clean water & debris from base, then check float operation. Connect wires, then install base cover & toe kick." Then check for proper operation and drain. Read More...
Mark Kent May 25, 2017 for Model Number Bosch S40T42UK/25 Hi, The dish washer wasn't draining water away. After investigation(google, youtube etc), I managed to find some thread around the impeller, but will probably need to remove the actual drain pump in order to gain better access to check it thoroughly for any more debris. I know how to do this, but how can I check that the drain pump actually works and isn't burnt out for example? I'm thinking of buying a cheap multimeter, but wouldn't know how to check the drain pump is actually working correctly. Many thanks
1 Answer Mark, once you remove the drain pump, and disconnect the wires, set the meter on the RX1k or 2k scale, place your meter leads across the two terminals, the meter should indicate 14K ohms resistance(+/- 10 %) indicating the motor windings are good. This doesn't really "guarantee" the motor works, just that it should. You may want to use the tech data sheet, program into the test mode and run/operate the drain pump. If you're careful, you can attach a 120 VAC test cord to the motor terminals, plug the test cord into an outlet and see the motor run. Read More...
Françcois May 03, 2017 for Model Number Bosch SHU3132-u12 Dishwasher doesn't drain. If I lift the float valve in the bottom the drain motor runs and it drains properly, I check for obstruction, nothing, Any suggestions where else to look? Thank you
1 Answer Franccois, This issue sounds like the float switch is faulty if it will only drain when lifted. Read More...
Shannon November 12, 2015 for Model Number SHX43C05UC/50 DW does not drain. Hoses and air gap are clear. Filters are clean, back flow flap works, drain pump impeller turns by hand and does not appear obstructed or loose. When there is water in the bottom of DW and I start a wash cycle it sometimes drains some of the water out. The drain pump does not run after that for the entire cycle. Unit is a SHX43C05UC/50
1 Answer Hello Shannon. See if there is power coming to the pump during the cycle. If so, and it does not drain, you will need to order and replace the pump on the unit. If there is no power, replace the module. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jim December 06, 2014 for Model Number SHU 66 Regarding the door switch possibly preventing the dishwasher from draining, all other cycles work normally, it just doesn't drain. Could this still be the door switch? It will drain if I lift the leak detector float switch on the bottom, any other suggestions or could it still be the door switch althought it will fill and run? Thank you.
1 Answer Jim, You will want to access the control board and test to see if the control is sending power to the drain pump during the drain cycle. If there is no power then the control board would be the issue. Read More...
Jim December 02, 2014 for Model Number Bosch SHU 66 Dishwasher doesn't drain on normal cycle or cancel/drain. If I lift the float valve in the bottom the drain motor runs and it drains properly, so I guess the motor and wiring to is are OK. Any suggestions where else to look? Thank you
1 Answer Hello Jim, This can be a door switch or the unit is out of level, not allowing the door switches to make properly. This can occur if it is not properly secured to the countertop/cabinet. Read More...
Jim November 17, 2014 for Model Number Bosch SHU66 Dishwasher My Bosch dishwasher doesn't drain every time. I removed the motor and it runs fast on a bench but vibrates a bit, and make a small amount of noise. It appears to have water or oil inside the clear plastic motor housing. Is this motor oil filled or is that likely the problem with a leaky shaft seal? Thank you!
1 Answer Jim, The motor would not have oil inside of it and would be a shaft seal that has failed. You will want to replace the drain motor for this issue. Read More...
