Sandra January 23, 2013 for Model Number SHU9915UC/U11 My question is similar to Douglas' about how to properly attach the wires from the dishwasher to the connector that is now needed to install drain pump #642239. I cannot make sense out of the response given to Douglas because there was no "original" connector. The bottom line is I just have 2 clips that need to be attached to the new connector and I need to know which clip goes on the top and which goes on the bottom when i finally attach the connector to the pump that now has 2 posts situated vertically instead of 4 posts horizontally. my choices are 1 clip has 2 combined wires and the other clip has just one wire. By the way, it would have been good to know that another $0.74 part, the connector, was needed for this project to be a success. This would have saved down time and additional shipping cost. Just a suggestion to post something about this along with the drain pump part description.
1 Answer Hello Sandra, The pump is not polarized so the two connectors can connect to either of the two terminals. Just plug them in and the unit will operate normally either way. Read More...
Sseibt January 20, 2013 for Model Number SHU9915UC/U11 Greetings, I am trying to replace the drain pump on my bosch dishwasher. The problem is the old pump has 4 metal prongs that run horizontally with 2 clips attached at positions 2 & 3. Position 2 has a clip with 2 attached wires and position 3 has a clip with just one attached wire. The replacement part has only 2 prongs that are positioned vertically and it looks like it accepts some type of wiring harness. I talked to Nancy in live chat and she said a connector was required and directed me to the part. It's a bummer that I did not learn about this necessary item when I placed my original order for the pump. She was unable to instruct me about how to position the 2 clips in the connector. Should the clip with the 2 wires be placed in the top position and the clip with one wire on the bottom or vise versa, or does it matter? I just don't want to put everything back together and have to take it apart again to make changes.
1 Answer Hello Sseibt, The motor is not polarized so the wires can connect to either of the two connectors. The pump will not no the difference and will operate normally either way. Read More...

Drew October 14, 2012 for Model Number SHX46B05UC/14 Hi, I need to replace my drain pump, original manufacturer part number 058373. From your site, I understand it's now replaced with a 9-vane pump and the wiring adapter 643143. I see 2 such pumps currently available, 642239 and 167082. Will either work, or is one better than the other for my unit? Thanks! Drew
1 Answer Hello Drew, for your model number the manufacturer recommends you use part number 00642239. They usually offer the one that will work with the unit the best. Thanks! Read More...
Celine August 13, 2012 for Model Number bosch My dishwasher stopped draining, my husband snaked the pipe and there was no blockage. I checked the impeller and removed any debris. I was able to bypass the door lock and watch to see if impeller was working, it is, no problem. The dishwasher runs the cycle fine but when it comes time to drain there is a light whirring, but like I said the impeller is working. Where do I go from here?
1 Answer Hello Celine. If the hose is clear, you will need to replace the drain pump 00642239 in the unit. Read More...
Douglas S. July 12, 2012 for Model Number GM915-710 SHUGGE1UC/U12 Ok. I had the drain pump with the 6 blue impeller blades. I ordered AP3996662 along with the recommended connector / Adapter AP5323611 - which is essentially a connector housing that isolates and combines the two connectors so that they don't short out. Does it matter which wire goes on which terminal? One has 2 wires attached to the spade lug, the other has one. The old pump had 4 connections, and although I did take a digital picture - it would not be possible to map the connections because the connectors changed on the pump.
1 Answer Hello Douglas, Since the pump is an ac motor with only one winding, it is not polarized and it will run just fine being wired either way. You can reverse the wires and since alternating current is applied, it will run the exact same way. Read More...
John June 20, 2012 for Model Number SHU5315UC/U06 My dishwasher still won't drain after installing a new pump. Before installing the pump I did make sure that the air gap, drain hose and back flow valve were not plugged. Where do I go from here?
1 Answer Hello John. Check and see if there is power coming to the drain pump. If there is no power, make sure the wiring on the unit is good and if so, you will need to replace the control module 00266746. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Wayne April 25, 2012 for Model Number SHE56C06UC/22 I replaced the drain pump because it was making noise. Now the drain pump run continuously. I touch the power button and the pump comes on. It even continues to run when I open the door. I even re-installed the old pump and it does the same thing except it is still making noise. Any suggestions?
1 Answer Hello Wayne. Check and see if the bottom of the unit has water in it where you replaced the pump. If so, it will need to be completely dry, or the float will raise up and turn the drain pump 00642239 on to prevent flooding. Read More...
Wayne April 22, 2012 for Model Number SHE56C06UC/22 The new pump impeller is conical and has 9 fins while the old one was squared off with 6 fins. Is this O.K? Also the electrical connection had 4 terminals while the new one only has 2. There are onle 2 wires to hook up. I did notice the L and N identifying letters on the housing and hooked them up accordingly but it appears that the pump is now running all the time and does not shut off. Do I have the wires crossed?
1 Answer Hello Wayne. According to the manufacture, you will need to order the adapter 00623143 for the pump to work properly. Read More...
