Jimmy L December 04, 2017 for Model Number PRDS366US I have a Thermador 6 star burner. The left front burner does not turn on. It does not ignite (no spark) and no gas. If there is gas I could light the burner with a lighter but does not light up with a flame. Please advice and help. Model# PRDS366US serial # 20040077
1 Answer Jimmy, This issue will most likely be caused by a faulty potentiometer and will be part number 00422748. Read More...
Rick August 07, 2017 I have a Bosch stove and it won't stop clicking. I replaced a 4 electrodes. AND IT STILL CLICKS Any Help on this.
1 Answer Rick, While we would need to have the model number of the unit you will need to check the ignition switches on the burner valves. If these check good for continuity in the off position then the issue will be the spark module. Read More...
Michael June 13, 2017 for Model Number PRG304 Front left Simmer burner will not spark, well maybe if I rotate the controller multiple times; maybe. Is it the spark module I need or the simmer controller?
Thurmador 36 Cooktop April 08, 2017 I have a 36 inch Thermador cooktop the extra low burners are not working . I get spark to them when I turn on anyone of the four other burners.
1 Answer Thurmador 36, your Thermador cooktop extra low burners, have a separate simmer control module and potentiometer switches. We will need the model number of your cooktop in order to determine the parts needed and advise you to repair your machine properly. Thanks Read More...
George November 08, 2016 for Model Number RDDS30VQB S/N 9707 & UP Situation: 18 year old range. 2 regular burners, 2 simmer burners. Igniters were working intermittenty when we bought house / range. Simmer burners would never relight in simmer mode. Most times burners would not initially ignite or even click but once in while it would work. All burners continue to have gas flow and can be lit with match. Igniters are clean and appear to have very low resistance. Recently no burners will ignite or even click. Gas flow is present at each burner. Control switches / pots function as I can hear simmer controller solenoid functioning when each rotated. Also confirmed and measured output of simmer controller on each channel is 120 Volts AC beteween them and N terminal. All grounds connected. Igniter leads have near zero resistance. Based on symptoms and other questions I bought new spark controller 753257 and installed. Still no clicking on any igniter. Tried different positions for igniter leads but no difference. Question: What is the problem? 4 bad igniters? Bad Simmer Controller? Bad replacement spark module?
1 Answer George, Based on this information it sounds like the issue will be a faulty bad simmer control on the unit. Read More...
Larry September 21, 2016 for Model Number Thermador PRG486GLUS My Thermador PRG486GLUS is having trouble sparking 2 of the gas cooktop burners. There are 6 burners. 4 normal and 2 extra low. 1 of the normal burners does not cause a spark when turned on. I have swap the spark switch out with a working switch and that is not the cause. The electrode does spark when another burner is turned on which is normal because they all are in series, but it does not spark when it's switch is turned on. The other burners will attempt to reignite if the flame goes out. If I turn the flame to low and blow flame away from electrode sparks will occur on the other burners but not this broken one. My question is, could this be a bad electrode or does the spark control module need to be replaced? The same thing is happening with one of the two extra low burners. It will not spark when turned on by it self. It does spark when other burners are turned on, again because they electrodes all spark when one does. It will spark in the extra low position but not in the normal position. It will also no try to reignite when the flame is blow out. The other extra low works fine. I have swapped the two potentiometers and that is not the problem. Again, is this something wrong with the simmer spark controller or is it a problem with the electrode? thanks, Read more: http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/567197-thermador-pro-range.html#ixzz4Kwbu0p8a http://forum.appliancepartspros.com
1 Answer Larry, For the burner that will not spark when the valve is turned on, this would be the switch that is the issue. For the burner that will not reignite, this would be a simmer control issue. Read More...
Victor April 06, 2016 for Model Number PRG366US I just changed the spark module and noticed the replacement part has the numbers in a different order. I need to know which numbers on the module go to which burner and what color wire goes to each.
1 Answer Hello Victor. It does not matter as when one burner is turned on, all surface burners will spark. This is the design of the unit. Read More...
Andrew J December 30, 2015 for Model Number PGR364GLLP/01 Having difficulty locating wiring diagram / schematic for this range or a pictorial as I normally do on other sites such as Sears. I trying to determine which spark module I need to restore the oven function. Top burners and broiler ignite properly but oven doesn't show any sparking at all. Any suggestions? Frustrated!
Mark November 14, 2015 for Model Number Thermador SGS36GS My issue is in ignition. Sometimes it works just fine, and others there is no spark at all. Gas still flows to all burners and they can be lit manually.
1 Answer Hello Mark, This can be a lost ground to the burner base, a failed ignitor, or, if the "clicking" is not occurring, a failing spark module, or a bad start switch circuit. There could be a bad ignitor wire causing the spark to jump to ground before reaching the ignitor. For a more detailed diagnosis we would need a more specific description of the failure, (is it making the clicking sound when trying to light or no sound at all, are the other ignitors sparking, and so on). Carm October 26, 2015 for Model Number Bosch stove HGS247UC-01 Have a Bosch stove. When I turn on one of my burners, I get a clicking sound--sometimes the flames come on and sometimes I have to manually light it. When the flame does come on, and I turn on to high, the flames are not that big(like my other burners). What needs to be replaced?
1 Answer Carm, The first thing that you would want to do is make sure that the burner is clean on the unit. Check the orifice to make sure that is completely clean. If this checks ok then it sounds like the burner valve would be faulty and need to be replaced. Read More...
