Questions & Answers

For Bosch Potentiometer Kit (Part Number: OEM11617857)

1 Answer

Dan, Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not list the connectors or the wire harness for this potentiometer kit. Try cleaning with contact cleaner and see if the connector is damaged or just had corrosion on it.

Jeffrey, with the gas supply turned off and the left burner and top panel removed, the solenoid 00423093 for the left rear burner would need to be tested for 110VDC. If there is voltage, the solenoid has failed and would need to be replaced. If not, the simmer controller 00619016 would need to be replaced. In regards to the left front continuously sparking, if the burner head is thoroughly clean the failure would likely be in the ignition device 00619017.

Henry, You will want to check to make sure that the burner is clean and if it is then this will likely be an issue with the Potentiometer that will need to be replaced.

Susan for Model Number PRG364GLUS

Hello. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I have a Thermador PRG364GLUS 36 inch Gas Range. The two left burners just fully stopped working last week, (no gas and no spark) and the "burner on (red) light" will not turn off unless I unplug full electrical power. The bbq in the middle, the two right burners, and the oven work perfectly. I was told I need part number 00497235 (potentiometer and simmer control kit) and that part I cannot find/no longer manufactured/not findable online. I'm completely stuck. I don't know what to do, I don't know if there are compatible replacement part/parts to buy. I don't want to buy a new range (very expensive) but I am stuck with what to do. I really want to fix this/have it fixed. If you could advise or help me I will send Christmas presents to everybody there!!!!

Susan, unfortunately, as the potentiometer kit 00497235 has been discontinued by the manufacturer, we would not be able to recommend an alternative.

Stella, The fact that both of the left burners are not doing anything would be an indication that the potentiometers are most likely faulty and would need to be replaced.

Antonie, If it is just the potentiometer that is needed then you would use part number 00422748. If the simmer control is needed, it has been discontinued and there is no suitable replacement available.

Michael, With only one burner not lighting it could be the potentiometer. You can move one that lights to the burner valve in question and see if it sparks. If it still does not light then the spark module itself would need to be replaced. It would depend upon if it has a potentiometer or a spark switch. 00753257 is the spark module 00497235 is the potentiometer and is not available 00189008 is the spark switch
