Allen April 10, 2019 for Model Number Thermador RDFS30RS The rear extra low burner will not light when unit is hot (stove running). I get spark but not gas. I sent the simmer control unit in and had it repaired but the problem still exists. I was thinking it might be the gas valve selonoid but when I had the top off I couldn't find them. Does this sound like a valve problem and if so where are they located? I also swapped pots and the problem didn't move so the pots are ok.
1 Answer Allen, I sent you a flow chart to follow. Unfortunately, it will probably be a potentiometer issue and there are no longer available Read More...

Chris February 10, 2019 Is it possible to convert a thermador range with 2 burners that have the low simmer control to regular burners without the simmer control? Apparently, they do not make the simmer control unit for those ranges any more ( part #497234, kit comes with blue simmer control board and 2 potentiometers) and even if you could find one it would cost over a thousand dollars to buy and no one will guarantee that it will work if you install it. I know this from personal experience finding one of these boards from a supposed reputable company in San Diego, paying over 1 thousand for a supposed new kit never been used that when installed, did not work. I can't believe that you cannot retrofit a 10 thousand dollar range so that all 4 burners will work.
1 Answer Chris, Unfortunately you would not be able to retrofit the unit to operate without the simmer control on the unit. Read More...
Please Make The Clicking Stop!! November 02, 2018 for Model Number PSC486GDZS Hello, I have a 6 burner plus griddle Thermador Gas Cooktop. The back left burner constantly clicks when the burner is off. In addition, the blue indicator light for that burner stays lit all the time. I have to unplug the entire cooktop when I am not cooking. Do I need a new Potentiometer? On this particular burner, the spark electrode is fine, the ceramic is good etc., but on 2 other burners, the spark electrode (ignitor) is cracked and/or broken. Thanks
1 Answer Hello, If you can test at the switch and find a closed circuit between pins 1 and 5 on the potentiometer when there is no power then it would need to be replaced. Pin 1 should be brown and pin 5 should be orange. Read More...
1 Answer Patty, The 00497235 / 497235 Potentiometer Kit is no longer available from the manufacturer. The manufacturer no longer sells the part. We can no longer get it from any of our suppliers. There is no substitute for the part available to us and we don't know of any other source for the part. You may want to try contacting local parts dealers, one of them might still have it in stock. Enter your part number in a search engine, a smaller company might have it. Try eBay, Amazon or similar sites. Search by using the manufacturers part number. You can also try a used appliance store, sometimes they have the same model, or part for your machine. Some dealers have access to refurbished parts or companies that can repair the existing part. Doug November 10, 2017 for Model Number PRG304GH My Rear left burner does not cycle ON/OFF Flame when I use XLO feature. The 3rd party warranty company replaced both controller boards. It does not do anything. I suspect that Range Surface Burner Igniter Switch Part #: 00629722 is the main cause. I guess it is potentiometer. Thank you for your feedback. I am looking forward hearing from you.
1 Answer Doug, The potentiometer would be the most likely cause for the issue that your having and would need part number 00422748. Read More...

Scott March 26, 2017 for Model Number SGC365RS Only one of the xlo burners will not get gas; it sparks, no gas. All others are fine. Occasionally when turning on one burner others will spark too. Thoughts?
1 Answer Scott, The igniter sparking but no gas would most likely be caused by a gas solenoid that is fauty for the XLO burner. Read More...
