Jeffrey for Model Number PRG486JDG/03 I have a XLO burner in left rear that while trying to use started attempting to ignite/spark but was unsuccessful but continued to spark. There was no gas coming out so it never lit and now the burner at front left started to spark at igniter as if it was trying to start but it already had a flame. Is this common and if so, what parts do I need?
Answer Jeffrey, with the gas supply turned off and the left burner and top panel removed, the solenoid 00423093 for the left rear burner would need to be tested for 110VDC. If there is voltage, the solenoid has failed and would need to be replaced. If not, the simmer controller 00619016 would need to be replaced. In regards to the left front continuously sparking, if the burner head is thoroughly clean the failure would likely be in the ignition device 00619017. Read More...
