Carl for Model Number GLEFM397DSA

I have a Frigidaire Gallery Series oven. Model number GLEFM397DSA. During/After preheat I get an F10 error. Tried unplugging for 10 minutes then plugging back in... same issue. I checked resistance on the temperature sensor. It apears to be correct at approx 1100 ohms. I checked resistance at pins 15 & 16 (where the wire inputs from the temperature sensor) on the EOC. It also reads between 1100-1200 ohms. Troubleshooting guide says it is likely the EOC. How can I be sure? Quite an expensive part to purchase and risk not being the issue.

Hello Carl, If the sensors are checking out ok then you would need to replace the EOC 316418704. The error code indicates a runaway temp.

Hi. I returned home and turned on the oven to bake a pizza. There was a buzz and a pop and a smell of burnt electrical. After unplugging it and plugging it back in, everything seemed to work except the oven elements (top, bottom, broil and convection) didn't heat up. The stove top elements and the bottom oven work fine. Even the oven controls (light, temp indicator, etc) all seemed to indicate working order - but nothing heated. I called the store i purchased it from for repair and diagnostic. I was told that the repair would total $460 and that the parts needed were the "control" and the "overlay" because typically in replacing the "control" the overlay was damaged. The part price seemed extreme and I couldn't get the manufacturers part out of them. In looking here - i find the description "control" is a bit vague. I'm wondering it they mean the circuit board 316426501 which according to the Q&A seems NOT to control the oven elements or the clock 316418704 which according to the Q&A seems to control the oven elements is what they meant. Any advice on which controls the oven and may have failed?

Erik, You're on track, You most likely have a damaged/shorted relay control board 316426501 This control board, applies power to all the elements in the range, and would be the most likely issue, based on your post description

I returned home after camping for the weekend to find our stove beeping and flashing an F7 in the left most display and a 10 in the display next to the clock. After using your online chat, the lady diagnosed the problem as being the AP377965 EOC board. I replaced the part, but the failure remained. The oven does function (although the temperature has not been verified) and seems to function properly. I called the customer service number and discussed the issue. She offered to send another AP377965. However, with my electronic technician background, I question whether the new board is faulty. Would you have any suggestions?

Hello Jesse. The code you provided iss for a bad control board or the left side switches 316426300 are bad and need to be replaced. If the control board is new, replace the switches.

Hello TJ. Test for 240 volts coming to the unit. If the power is there, you will test for 240 volts to the elements. If there is only 120 volts, you will need to check and see if the voltage is not coming out of the clock. If not, replace the clock 316418704 in the unit.

Hello Rob. Pull the unit out and disconnect the power to the unit. Then remove the back panel off the control panel so you can access the screws securing the clock assembly. Remove the screws securing the clock and unplug the wires, one at a time and plug them onto the new clock 316418704 one at a time. Make sure the wires are installed on the correct location on the clock.

Tom for Model Number GLEFM397DBB

this frigidaire range is seven years old and about 2 years ago i had the control panel short out while turning the oven on. I opened it up and found there was no insulation beteween the two layers of the main clock control panels allowing the solder spots to arc while pushing the start button. So I cleaned up the board and put a plastic insulator between them and it seemed to work fine for a while. Then about a year later while baking on convection mode it got super hot like it overrode to self clean. I unplugged it and let it sit for a couple days as per a local shops recommendation, and when I plugged it back in all worked fine, until this time and the same thing happened again. So I am wondering which circut I should be replacing. Would it be this main control panel or a different circut board?

Hello Tom. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the clock 316418704 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit.

Hello Gerry. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the element shorted out the clock and the clock 316418704 will need to be replaced. You can test for voltage coming from the clock to the element. If none is there, replace the clock. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hi TL. Remove control panel back Test clock relay board outputs while calling for broil or bake. If you have 120vac out then the board is good. Is the L.E.D. read outs normally lit up? The clock is part # 316418704. Make sure all connections going to the elements are tight. Also check all connections at the terminal block. Unplug the unit and see if the house supply has 240vac,120vac individually to neutral as the unit operates on both 120vac and 240vac split from the internal clock control to individual devices. Follow the tech. sheet found in the control panel back area. This will assist in further diagnosis. Contact us and let us know how you do. Thank you.
