Jessica October 10, 2016 for Model Number Fgfl87dce I recently replaced a bad igniter. Once I replaced it the igniter glowed white and popped and there was a burned electrical smell with a tiny bit of smoke. I got a new igniter put it in and now the oven isn't working at all. There is continuity in both the igniter and safety valve. Did the faulty igniter short out the control board or could there be another problem?
1 Answer Hello Jessica, You will need to check for 120Vac to the ignitor from the control. If no voltage is present, the control 316557206 has failed. Read More...
1 Answer Michael, With the F11 error code, this will be a shorted keypad which means that the clock assembly will need to be replaced. The part number for the clock assembly is 316557206. Read More...
Lori July 15, 2014 for Model Number FGFLMC55ECA Hi - The other night right after using my gas oven, I noticed that the display was gone. I removed the back of the unit and did not see any visible issue. After reading posts on your site, I am wondering if it is the control module that needs to be replaced. My Frigidaire oven has the smaller bottom/"dual" oven feature as well, and that is not working either. Because it is gas, my burners are, of course, working. Can you help me to diagnose this? I would rather do this myself and not contact a repair person. Thank you! Lori
1 Answer Hello Lori. Test for power to the control board. If there is power there, and it does not work, you will need to replace the control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Bob February 12, 2013 for Model Number FGFB86DCC I have a frigidaire gas oven will not heat up. Remains in preheat mode.
1 Answer Hello Bob. Check and see if the igniter is glowing. If not, and there is power to it, you will need to order and replace the igniter on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Lisa H January 01, 2013 for Model Number GLGf386DCG I am getting the f13 error and sounds like issue is control panel. Is this same as clock panel? I was thinking of doing repair myself as it looked like it was fairly straightforward - remove back panel, mark all wires to ensure properly connecting on new unit. Can you advise if this sounds like correct part? Is there a certain order you need to hook the wires up? Thanks much.
1 Answer Hello Lisa, The F13 error code indicates a shorted keypad. If you disconnect power for 30 second then reapply, if the fault returns upon power up then you need to replace the EOC. This would be the clock/timer 316557206 for unit. When you install you just want to take one wire off and put on new one that way there is no confusion on how they are connected. Read More...
Sheri December 01, 2012 for Model Number GLGF386DSE My oven doesn't always ignite right a away when I intend to bake, often I can see a light coming from the bottom of the oven, but without heat, or very very little heat. After about 10 minutes I smell gas, then it POOFS and ignites. Sometimes it takes up to 30-40 to light or even to smell any gas. I've thoroughly cleaned the oven, and still have this problem, sometimes it happens midway into baking when it needs to reheat, and the kitchen fills with gas. I feel it may be the controller, we are on our second one in 5 or so years.
1 Answer Hello Sheri, The most common failure on these is the ignitor 5304534663. It has to pull 3.2 to 3.6 amps to be able to open the gas valve so it can start. If it draws the proper current, replace the gas valve 316404900. Read More...
Jim September 16, 2012 for Model Number Frigidaire GLFGLFL79DBA. Stove with 4 burners, speed bake fan I have a gas range with a schematic showing this number 316417808. While cleaning to get the power burner ignitor to light it up the gas, the clock, op panel and stove stopped working. Is the oven controlbad now? Is Clock/timer Item Number: AP4512575 the right part? Range Model number shown on frame: FGLFL79DBA. And why the spark does not ignite the power gas burner but the other 3 are lit?
1 Answer Hello Jim. Make sure the power burner is not wet with moisture. If there is power coming to the control board and it does not work, you will need to order and replace the control. If the burner is clean and is dry and wont spark, you will need to order and replace the spark module on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Josh July 22, 2012 I have Frigidaire stove where the burners and igniters both work. The oven, clock, and light do not work. I inspected all of the connections on the back of the stove and everything else looks clean. From the schematic included with the stove it looks like this means the control unit is bad. Does this sound like a safe diagnosis?
1 Answer Hello Josh. Yes, based on the information you provided, it sounds like the clock assembly 316557206 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Pera June 17, 2012 for Model Number GLGF386DCB I just bought a used stove but the clock (oven control) doesn't work. When the stove is connected to the power the clock appears as an incomplete zero and does not show any letter that indicates an error. Another thing is that the preheat light is on (light is very bright) and the oven and door lock indicator lights seem like they are on but the light is too dim to determine if on or off. Speed bake lens is also missing. What could be the problem? Can you help or give me advice on what the problem might be or instuctions on trouble shooting to determine what the problem is? Thank You.
1 Answer Hello Pera. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the clock 316557206 is bad and will need to be replaced in the unit. If there is power coming to it, and the display is not working properly, and setting are being set with out selecting them, replace the clock in the unit. Read More...
