John, To ensure that it is the control board you can test the board by putting unit on bake and testing for 240 vac from L1 to bake. If there is correct power then it would be the control board if there is not correct power then you will want to start checking at the terminal block for 120 vac from the outer terminals to the center. If either do not have power then it is home electrical or power cord.

Hello James, The first thing I would check for is a pinched wiring harness. If this isn't the case, I would test the electrical control for the surface element that is giving the problem. With an ohm meter, test from terminal 2a to terminal 1a. If this shows any continuity at all with the switch in the off position, change the electrical control. If it reads infinite, change the surface unit control board 316442101. If you require any more assistance, I would greatly appreciate knowing which burner we are referring to so I can make wire color references and give accurate part numbers.

Hello Tim. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the open pins shorted the relays on the control board and the control board 316418700 will need to be replaced. Hope this helps.
