Dan P. for Model Number LEDB500FEE0

Can start washer without issue. It randomly will have a power failure at some point in it's cycle. The PF error happens randomly. Sometimes it makes it 10 minutes, and other times it makes it 30 minutes. I have pulled the bottom kick plate and verified that the connection to AC power is solid by removing the wire nuts and re-twisting them. I have pulled the door cover and looked over the wiring harness and not found any obvious issues. Wondering if it is the controller board?

1 Answer

Hello Dan, This is normally caused by a melted wire nut in the power connection box under the unit to the right, behind the kick panel.

Hello Jay, Check the power at the door switch. Make sure the door switches are being activated by the door latch. Run the WATER SERVICE TEST to verify control and component operation. To start the Water Service Test all cycles must be cleared and all of the lights out on the console, turn the Cycle Selector to the Rinse Only setting, press and hold the Heat Dry and the Start/ Cancel pads simultaneously for 3 seconds or less the test will start by powering the water valve. (This is explained in further detail in the units' tech sheet normally found behind the units' kick panel.) Check electrical connections at the connector. Check for power on the black wire from the door switch to control disconnect (pin location 3). Adjust, repair, or replace door latch assembly.

N, You would want to access the bottom of the unit and access the drain. Pull the drain and check to see if there is something caught in it and check to make sure that the impeller is not damage. Also make sure that the drain hose goes up to a point of at least 32" as this will cause water to flow back into the unit if it is not.

S.R. for Model Number Frigidaire dishwasher Model FDB1050REM2

Over the course of about 6 months, the dishwasher started making a crackling noise in the short wash cycle but washed fine. Noise got worse, and I tried using the normal cycle. That worked for a while, then that cycle started making the crackling noise. Moved on to using the pots & pans cycle, and it made the noise too but less. This is over several months time. Finally, the dishwasher started filling with water basically throughout the cycle & overflowed a bit. It drains fine. The overflow valve stops the water when actuated, & when I open the door, the water stops. The water stops also if the power is off. I've also smelled burning plastic/wire smell at times, but there are no sparks underneath the dishwasher.

1 Answer

Hello S.R., The float switch should not cut the water off so you have either low water pressure to the unit or the water valve needs to be changed. As far as the crackling noise goes, the only thing I know of that would make a sound like this would be plastic or foil in the chopper blade or the pump impeller. The pump should be torn down to determine if the impeller and chopper blade areas are clear of debris. You should also look closely at the wiring and around the heating element while in there. One sore spot would be the nuts 154106202 holding the element in position. Frigidaire had some issues with these nuts, made from flat metal, splitting down the side and letting go of the element and allowing water to drip around and getting onto the electrical connection to the element.

Hello Ara, This can be many different issues. The unit could be sitting out of level causing the door switch not to activate. The unit could have a bad control board and/or touchpad. The unit could simply have a loose wire in the harness or a poor electrical connection in the junction box. Re-post with more information on the unit and we will help you to diagnose the issue.

Moore for Model Number FDB1050REB0

The clean light stays on after running and only resets if I turn off breaker. It doesn't seem to be drying so I tested the thermostat and heating element for continuity and both showed continuity (i didn't remove the heating element from the dishwasher...is that necessary to really test for continuity?). I pulled out the control panel. Two of the plugs inside the wire harness are a bit brown...not sure if that indicates something burned out/is corroded? Does this sound like a defective control panel?

1 Answer

Hello Moore. If both are reading closed for continuity, then you need to order and replace the control board on the unit.

Robatolla for Model Number Galaxy Series GLD2250RDB5

My dishwasher starts properly, fills with water and starts to cycle. Problem is about a minute, (maybe slightly less) after starting to wash it shuts off drains and I think starts to dry. All the operating lights go off except for the high temp wash and air dry button lights start flashing together. Tried unplugging power to try to maybe reset and did my best to make sure the door was closed correctly which did not change anything. Any help would be appreciated.

1 Answer

Robatolla, The High temp wash and air dry button flashing is an indication of a power failure. If pushing START/Cancel does not correct then the control module is defective and will need to be replaced.

Richard, Yes, the issue would be in the control module 154712101. Depending on soil conditions, you may want to start it on pots and pans and leave it there the cycle has 1 pre rinse cycle and an additional rinse cycle, extending the total cycle approximately 20 minutes longer than the normal cycle. Or use the Light wash cycle which is 10 minutes less in total time (8 minute pre wash cycle) at least for a while, until you replace the control.
