It ensures efficient and consistent heating, making it ideal for various cooking tasks. It contains a 9-inch, 1200-watt element and a 6-inch, 1300-watt element, combining for 2500 watts at 240 volts

Causes of a bad dual element can include electrical issues, wear and tear from regular use, or physical damage such as cracks or breaks in the heating element. These issues can lead to inconsistent heating or complete failure of the element.

Symptoms of a bad dual element include:

  • Burner not heating up
  • Inconsistent or uneven heating
  • Element not switching between high and low heat
  • Visible damage to the element

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

Questions & Answers

For Frigidaire Dual Element (Part Number: OEM13670382)

Mahesh, for the most accurate information, the verified model number of the appliance would be necessary. With a cooktop, the model number would be located on the bottom of the appliance.

Tammy, This issue would most likely be an issue with the infinite switch. The infinite switch is what regulates the temperature of the element and with it coming on and off within a few seconds then shuts off, the infinite switch is more likely to be the issue.

Rafi, It sounds like there may be an issue with one of the infinite switches or a wiring issue.

Tom, it would be recommended that the console back panel is removed and the dual burner switch is tested for voltage from terminal 4 to terminal 2 when the dual setting is on. If there is 240VAC, then the element 316555800 has failed. If there is not 240VAC, the switch 316238201 has failed.

Tim S for Model Number Kenmore Model 790.95663200 S/N VF23333505

Hi, I am trying to replace the right front burner on the Kenmore range. It is a dual burner. I looked up the part# AP4556791 which changed to 316555800. I ordered this part & received it. When I took the range apart to replace the dual burner the connections were different. The old burner has 7 wire connections and has the numbers 25/02 which I think maybe the week/year of manufacture and the # Z95C25140U606 stamped on it. Is there another configuration for the new part 316555800? The replacement only has 5 wire connections. Did I order the wrong part? Thanks

Tim, The difference between the 2 burners, there was a black jumper wire on the original that they removed from the new one because they bridged 2 of the terminals together. This is the correct element for your unit.

Mo, it's time to take it back apart and make sure that all the wiring is where it belongs. Sounds like you might have a wire off or a poor connection.

Hello Ken, The problem could be either the infinite switch or the surface element. You should test the infinite switch and if it tests good, replace the surface element. With power off, test from L1 to H1. This should read open until the switch is turned on. You will then need to test from L2 to H2. This should read open until the switch is turned on also. If both readings are good, replace the surface element. If not, replace the infinite switch.

Carol, the most likely failure is going to be in the infinite switch 316238201 as this switch is responsible for cycling the coils on and off. However, with the power cord disconnected from the outlet, the wires going from the switch to the element coils should be tested for continuity to ground to ensure that there are no shorts within the circuit.
