The Bake Element is an OEM replacement part for Frigidaire electric ranges. This component provides direct heat from an internal coil or rods within the oven cavity, allowing for baking and other heated cooking functions.

Symptoms of a bad bake element include:

  • Inability to achieve or maintain proper cooking temperatures
  • Discolored, burned, or undercooked foods
  • Tripped circuit breakers or blown fuses after use

Causes stem from typical wear over years of heating use. Cracks in insulated surfaces or broken coil sections can cause inconsistencies.

This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with ranges sold under the Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and various Kenmore brand names.

Hugues, No, That would not be "normal" . There should be two (black) wires attached to the silver 1/4 inch terminals on the end of the element. You may want remove power to the oven and attempt to "fish" the wires out through the opening for the element in the oven back wall or you'll need to remove the oven from the wall and check to see if the wires were damaged, broken, etc.
