The Bake Element is an OEM component for Frigidaire wall ovens. It is an integrated heating coil that generates heat through electric resistance when powered. Located near the bottom of the oven cavity, the bake element facilitates heating for various cooking functions like baking, roasting, or warming. This element measures approximately 13 x 11 inches.

Symptoms of a bad bake element include:

  • Oven failing to reach or maintain desired cooking temperatures
  • Bake cycles taking excessively long periods of time
  • Hot or cold spots developing inside oven cavities
  • Error codes appearing related to upper heating issues

Causes can be cracks in ceramic sheathing allowing arcing, or mineral deposits coating coils over extended use impeding heat transfer.

This OEM Frigidaire part can also be used on Electrolux, Frigidaire, Gibson, Kelvinator, Westinghouse, and Sears/Kenmore.

Walter, Because of the cleaning method i found in your use and care guide, we can assume there is no access from inside the unit to the element. The oven would have to be uninstalled and accessed from the rear of the unit.

Dave, Test the oven sensor at room temperature for a resistance of 1090 ohms and then at 350 degrees for resistance of 1654 ohms. If the resistance is off then the issue will be the sensor but if it is ok then the issue will be the control board.

Yongwei, Thanks for the question, and I would check the power to the element to make sure you are getting 240vac. If so, then check the temperature probe for the proper resistance.

Hello Philip, unfortunately, we have no service information on this model. However, the upper oven hidden bake element should be replaceable from the oven front once you slide the oven out slightly and remove the vent grill with the lock assembly to gain access to the element. Suggest you try an internet search using the element part number and/or the make/model and see if someone has a repair video.

Jerry, at the front of the wall oven the middle plate between the ovens would need to be removed and the power supply to the oven turned off. This should expose a screw on each side of the heater plate directly under the oven cavity. With the screws removed, the plate should be able to pull forward carefully, allowing access to the hidden bake element 318601604 and the wires. Unfortunately, the manufacturer does not provide the resistance rating of the bake element. As this is the case, the element should have a resistance somewhere between 10O to 50O.
