Lisa, This issue will be caused by a faulty switch. You will want to access the switches and test from Terminal P on each switch to the chassis of the range for 120 Vac. This will be done with the switch in the off position. If there is 120 Vac then that is the switch that is faulty.

Mark, The on indicator being on will not be a dangerous issue but will be one of the switches that have a stuck contact. The contact will be on the L1 side in which it will make contact with the H1 and the P terminals and the P terminal is what controls the on indicator light.

Roberta, the lighting being dim is usually an indicator of the clock control 318013929 failing. Unfortunately, this part has been discontinued by the manufacturer and is no longer available. The failure of this part can be verified by testing to Identify if it is receiving a proper 115-120 VAC at L1.

John, This would most likely be caused by a switch that is faulty. Check each switch while on for 120 Vac from the P terminal to chassis ground. If there is not power then the switch is faulty and would need to be replaced. If it is the hot surface indicator that is not working then you will want to test the elements from the 2 small terminals for continuity. If there is no continuity then this will be a faulty element.

Hello Vernon, one of the cooktop burner infinite switches has a stuck contact between L1 and P. To locate which switch you would have to unplug the stove's line cord or turn off the stove's circuit breaker, access the switches and one by one remove the wires from L1 and P terminals and using a multimeter check for a closed circuit between L1 and P with the switch in the OFF setting. The replacement infinite switch for the small burners is 316436000, for the large burners it is part 316436001.

Hello Victor, Since the element has been replaced, the problem was not the element temperature limiter. The only other thing that would cause this is a bad infinite switch 316436001.
