For Frigidaire Frigidaire Puresource 3 Wf3cb Water Filter (Part Number: OEM13702482)

Allen for Model Number LFSS212TF0

I have a Frigidaire Side by Side Refrigerator with the water filter in the back, upper right side of the right main door. The filter is tubular shape and should pull right out for replacement. I am getting very slow water dispensing from the freezer side door, and very slow making of ice on the freezer side door. What is the part number - possibly a new part number - that I need, who sells the part online, or possibly a store like Home Depot, and once I have the Part, Can I grip the old one with a set of Channel locks if necessary to get it out. Should all this fix my problem?

1 Answer

Hello Allen, the water filter replacement is WF3CB, as far as the old filter, yes you can grip it with a pair of pliers to help pull it out but carefully so as to not damage the filter housing.

Steve, First I would check the water pressure coming into the refrigerator valve and then check to make sure there is good pressure back from the filter to the valve assembly.

Kevin Z. for Model Number Frigidaire WF3CB Puresource Replacement

I have a problem with my water filter. I replaced my water filter with a Frigidaire WF3CB Puresource Replacement. I use a new one and dispense water for no problem. I follow the instructions and dispense water for a certain time. After some time, the water never comes out again. I try to re-install the new filter but nothing comes out. If I order a new filter, the same thing happens again. Water works fine then just stops. What's going on?

Kevin, Check to make sure that the fill tube is not frozen in the door by taking the kickplate off the bottom of the unit and disconnecting the waterline. Push the dispenser lever and if water comes from the tube underneath the refrigerator then the fill tube is frozen and will need to be thawed. If there is no water, then does the icemaker make ice. If no then the filter base would need to be replaced.

Wayne, Try to flush out the water lines in the unit and see if this does not clear it up. Also, make sure that there is a good filter in the unit and check the icemaker to make sure that the mold is not deteriorating.

Dan, This issue sounds like the water filter head is the issue with the filter not coming out. You may need to use channel locks and grab the end of the filter to get it to pull it out.

Terry, You will need to recruit a helping hand to help check for voltage at the water valve. Have someone depress the actuator paddle for water while you are checking the water valve for 120 VAC. If you receive voltage and no water at the dispenser and no lines or water tank frozen then the valve is the most likely problem.

Val, the filter would need to be flushed for several seconds before water would spurt out, and at least 3 gallons before the air is fully removed from the lines. However, if the model number of the appliance could be provided in a new inquiry, this will allow for the most accurate information to be presented. The valve can be tested by removing the line from the valve, aiming the tube connector into a pitcher, and pressing the water dispenser to verify that the valve is letting water through.

Jo Ann, it is possible that there may be a pressure build-up preventing the filter from being able to unlock. If the water supply is turned off and any water is dispensed, this can relieve pressure build-up to assist with this occurrence. If this does not correct the issue, it is likely that the water filter base has seized up completely and would need to be replaced.

Rose, if the water dispenser is dispensing a very small stream of water, it is likely that the water filter EDR6D1 may need to be replaced. If the filter has recently been replaced, the inlet tube at the icemaker would need to be inspected for any ice build-up. If there is ice, it would need to be cleared and the valve WP2188808 would need to be replaced.
