This dishwasher turbidity sensor measures how dirty the wash water is and reports to the control. Replacing a faulty sensor can restore proper cycle times and cleaning performance for consistent results.

  • Monitors water clarity/soil level during the wash
  • Sends feedback to the control to adjust cycle length, rinses, and heating

What's included: One sensor Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker and shut off water before servicing
  • Access the sensor from the bottom near the sump; remove the toe panel if needed
  • Unplug the wire harness; release the locking tabs or twist-lock to remove; avoid touching the optical window
  • Inspect and reuse the existing seal/retainer if in good condition; seat fully and check for leaks after reassembly

Jason, there is a possibility that there may be a clog in the drain line or even where the drain hose connects into the plumbing that can cause the unit to improperly drain. The first thing you will want to do is check and verify that there is not any kind of obstruction in the drain pump and the drain line. Once that has been checked, if the unit is still not draining properly, then there may be an issue with the impeller of the drain pump itself.

Dan, If the unit is working properly but does not get the dishes clean then you will want to check the diverter motor which cycles the between the upper and lower levels.

"Dishwasher has started changing to longest cycle, after starting, when "quick clean" cycle is selected. This model has a soil sensor that adjusts cycle according to soil levels. Have intentionally pre-cleaned and rinsed loads, cleaned filter & drain parts before start to assure excess soil is not the issue. Does this sound like the soil sensor or a control panel problem? Any suggestions? Dennis for Model Number FGHD2433KB0 Answer Dennis, It does sound likely that the turbidity sensor is faulty and would need to be replaced for this issue." Replaced turbidity sensor after submitting above question. DW continues going to long cycle after start on other cycles. What else should I consider?

Jay, On the side of the sensor there are pieces that should stick out and the sensor will just push up into place and lock in.
