For Frigidaire Refrigerator Temperature Sensor (Part Number: OEM21729474)

Hello James, If there is a frost build-up on the back wall of the freezer, the issue will be in the defrost circuit. If the compressor is not running, you will need to voltage to the compressor. If voltage to the overload and the compressor is hot, there is a good chance that replacing the start relay will correct the issue. If the start relay rattles, it is bad. If not, the compressor may require replacement.

Hello Tony. You will need to check and make sure the sensor is good in the unit. If so, and the damper is not working, you may have a bad main board 241511102 on the unit.

Freezer works fine, but fridge was warm. This fridge has dual evaporators. I first noticed the fan was not coming on so I ordered an evaporator fan. When that did not work, I ran diagnostics at the control and everything worked so I figured it must be the main controller not going into run. Water works, freezer works and the fan in the ice box works. I can feel air coming thru it. The control panel diagnostics tests everything checks out okay. The fridge evaporator fan comes on when in diagnostics. I checked the fridge thermister and it reads off so i will try to replace it and see how that goes unless anyone thinks its something else.

Mike, You would want to test the thermistor and it should have a resistance at room temp of 77 degrees of 2.7K ohms and if it does not have this resistance and if not then the thermistor would need to be replaced. There is also a 3 way valve on the back of the unit which could also cause this issue.

Ralph, There is no reset protocol for the refrigerator. If the sensor wires are bare then you will want to replace the icemaker due to this. It is possible that this could have caused a issue with the main control board and would be the reason the unit is not operating.

Loon Lake, If you remove the cover of the icemaker there will be a screw between 2 brackets to the right of the gear in the middle that is the adjustment screw. You could try to adjust that to see if you get better size cubes. The only other thing is if there is lower water pressure than normal.

Jerry, You will want to test the sensors on the unit to ensure that they are reading 5K ohms at 77 degrees. If the sensors check ok then the issue will most likely be caused by a faulty control board 242115240.

We've been having problems with our Frigidaire Gallery side by side fridge getting too cold. Way too cold. On both sides. Our milk freezes and our ice cream is so cold it's like a solid block of ice. We have replaced the control board on the door but it didn't fix the problem. My next idea was possibly a bad temp sensor, but don't know exactly where it is. Where is the temp sensor located? Could this fix our problem or could it be something else? Thanks.

Hello Cameron. There is a cover inside the unit on the fresh food side. You will remove the cover to access the sensor 240597220. Freezer one is located in the ice container section of the unit. It could be the sensors. You need to test them. If they are good, then the main board 5303918538 on the unit will need to be replaced.

Lynne, With the unit not cooling you will want to check to see if the compressor is running. If it is not running then the the start device is the most likely issue.
