David G. February 25, 2012 for Model Number FEFL58ESA My electric range is overheating on at least 3 elements. Replacing the elements did not cure the problem as did unplugging to reset unit. Is the a central "brain" or are the elements controlled by the switches ?

Ray P. October 06, 2011 I ordered switch to replace the one I had, which was stuck on high. I inserted the new switch a wire a time. It seems to only work on high setting. No matter where I move the switch it appears to be on high, Please advise what could be the problem. My stove is a frigidare model GLEF369DQH.
1 Answer Hello Ray. You will need to check and see if any of the wires going to the element are shorted out, and if the element or the limit switch built into the element 316135401 is shorted out. If so, it can cause the unit to stay on high and not cycle properly. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
