This kit typically includes the necessary components to replace a faulty switch and restore proper functionality to the burners.

Causes of a bad surface unit switch can include electrical malfunctions, wear and tear from regular use, or damage due to spills or impacts. A faulty switch can prevent the burner from heating correctly or at all.

Symptoms of a bad surface unit switch include:

  • Burners not heating up or heating unevenly
  • Inability to adjust the burner temperature
  • Burners not turning on or off properly
  • Sparks or electrical odors near the switch

This OEM replacement is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator, and Kenmore models.

For Frigidaire Surface Unit Switch Kit (Part Number: OEM7775421)

1 Answer

Payson, Unfortunately there would not be any information available on this unit to be able to assist with removing the panel. It does look like there would be a couple screws at the top and bottom of the control panel that you would remove to get the panel to come off.

Larry, We would need to have the model number of the unit to properly assist. Although this issue would most likely be caused by a faulty infinite switch.

Frank, When hooking up the switch, if you hooked it up per the diagram that came with the part then it would be connected properly and most likely the element is bad.

Johnc for Model Number 13-3626-08

I have a Tappan 13-3626-08 stove top. It has 2 large burners and 2 smaller burners. The large burner switch says 8.9-10.8A (I assume AMPs). The small burner switch says 5.3-6.4A. Would your switch AP2591804 be a replacement for either of these switches? And if so, do you have a sister switch for the other? In case you want them, the large switch has these numbers on it: Type B 8411301 250V 8.9-10.8A 699T0117P03 QE214504. The small switch has these numbers on it. TYPE A 8712071 250V 5.3-6.4A 699T017P04 QE214503. Thanks, JohnC
