Eric March 30, 2016 for Model Number Kenmore 79099503990 The larger oven door switch went bad. During removal of the switch, the wires came off of the switch terminals. Which terminal does each of the three wires go onto?
1 Answer Hello Eric. If you are referring the switch that turns the light on and off when the door open and closes this is how the wires should be connected. A black wire (7) should go the "C" marking on the switch. A red wire (7) should go to the "NO" marking on the switch. You'll have another black wire that may be a double black (5) going to the "NC" marking. Read More...

Kat April 14, 2014 for Model Number FES367CEBD Hi! I have a Frigidaire Smooth Top Range with connecting oven. The other day a metal ring fell to the floor and the light on the inside is remaining on even with the door closed. We thought I needed to replace the #12 switch since the switch is now inside of the unit itself. Can you give any insights into how to replace it? I have read online to remove the control panel and I have read to remove the side. Please help if you can. Thanks!
1 Answer Kat, With this unit being a slide in range it will be necessary to remove the control panel of the unit in order to change the light switch. This will require removing the endcaps of the panel and lift the panel off. You will also need to remove the burner box from the unit to be able to get to the switch. This is done by removing the screws around the perimeter of the range top to lift it up. Read More...
Michael February 05, 2014 for Model Number FC388wec I have a Frigidaire Gallery dual fuel range FCS388WEC, the door switch has been sticking for awhile and tonight I pushed on it and sparks flew out of it. I think I need to replace it but wanted to take it out to make sure there are no loose wires behind it. Do I have to take the oven apart to remove it? I see the switch part is AP5590146.
1 Answer Michael, If you have a replacement switch 318394803 handy, and are careful, you may not have to remove and dismantle the range. This type switch can be removed, using a putty knife or other flat blade tool and a small flt blade screwdriver. Remove power to the range and open or remove the oven door. Using the flat blade tool, insert the blade between the switch and the oven front flange and carefully pry out on the assembly. Using the small flat blade screwdriver, press in or down on the metal retainer tabs on the sides of the switch, then slowly extract the assembly. reverse the procedure and reestablish power to the range, and test for operation. Dh March 28, 2013 for Model Number FEB556CESH How do I change the door light switch. This does not seem to be an easy process. Also, I will need to purchase one.

Todd Gray January 02, 2013 for Model Number GLEB30S8CBB Broiler element works fine but oven element will not heat up. I looked at diagrams but could not find just the bottom element. The part number was 87. Is this a normal problem with this model or am I looking in the wrong direction?
1 Answer Hello Todd, you could have a failed bake element 318255006 but if that checks out and the wiring appears okay, it could be the oven control 318010700 or relay 318111501. Hope this helps! Read More...

Mike October 24, 2011 for Model Number GLEB3OT8CBA The door switch (part number 12) on the lower oven has melted along with the connector (socket) the switch plugs into. I have ordered and received the door switch, but I need to obtain the connector (socket) the switch plugs into. I would also like to obtain the wiring harness that goes to the connector for switch. Do you have a part number for the connector and the wiring harness? Thanks
1 Answer Hi Mike. Parts breakdown is kind of hard to see. On the switch there are 2 metal tabs that will lock the switch in place once it is pushed into the body. The violet is the Common switch connection. Blk is on "N/C". Brown is the "N/O" . You need to take the new switch to the local hardware and get insulated connectors that match the terminal blade width of the switch. This way you can get the locking tab type that access the hole in the middle of the terminals. They can be 3/16" wide or up to 5/16". The wiring harness is no longer available. You will find a wiring diagram folded in the control area or the clock area. Thank You. Read More...
