Hello Eric. If you are referring the switch that turns the light on and off when the door open and closes this is how the wires should be connected. A black wire (7) should go the "C" marking on the switch. A red wire (7) should go to the "NO" marking on the switch. You'll have another black wire that may be a double black (5) going to the "NC" marking.

Kat, With this unit being a slide in range it will be necessary to remove the control panel of the unit in order to change the light switch. This will require removing the endcaps of the panel and lift the panel off. You will also need to remove the burner box from the unit to be able to get to the switch. This is done by removing the screws around the perimeter of the range top to lift it up.

Michael, If you have a replacement switch 318394803 handy, and are careful, you may not have to remove and dismantle the range. This type switch can be removed, using a putty knife or other flat blade tool and a small flt blade screwdriver. Remove power to the range and open or remove the oven door. Using the flat blade tool, insert the blade between the switch and the oven front flange and carefully pry out on the assembly. Using the small flat blade screwdriver, press in or down on the metal retainer tabs on the sides of the switch, then slowly extract the assembly. reverse the procedure and reestablish power to the range, and test for operation.

Hi Mike. Parts breakdown is kind of hard to see. On the switch there are 2 metal tabs that will lock the switch in place once it is pushed into the body. The violet is the Common switch connection. Blk is on "N/C". Brown is the "N/O" . You need to take the new switch to the local hardware and get insulated connectors that match the terminal blade width of the switch. This way you can get the locking tab type that access the hole in the middle of the terminals. They can be 3/16" wide or up to 5/16". The wiring harness is no longer available. You will find a wiring diagram folded in the control area or the clock area. Thank You.
