Michael October 14, 2017 for Model Number FFFH20F2QWC Frigidaire Freezer runs and gets to temp when I plug it in then won’t restart after temp is reached. It may be that every time you go to the unit, it is running. But in reality, it turns off when the temp is correct. Larry G. July 19, 2017 for Model Number FCGM181RQBB I am required to keep my refrigerators in a 1.6 to 8.5 degree Celsius range, (35° to 47°F). I am able to keep that range until the unit goes into the defrost cycle. The cycle lasts about 30 minutes. I have no temperature control for about 16 minutes, twice per day. Depending on what the temperature is when it cycles to defrost, it can be up to 3° warmer. Is there a way adjust the defrost time to run for 20 minutes 2 times a day, or is there another timer that runs for less than 30 minutes. Last year I purchased the same unit FCGM181RQBA and have no issues keeping range. It appears the heater is more aggressive in the newer units. Is that possible?
1 Answer Hello Larry, There is no adjustment for the defrost time. The manufacturer has designed the unit in this way and it cannot cool during defrost, otherwise the defrost cycle cannot operate. Stephan February 10, 2017 for Model Number LFUH17F2NW0 My upright freezer only cooled to 20. Back was was frosted, repair tech said the coils were frozen, bad timer. The timer on it is part number 297318010, 12 hour. The local appliance parts store sold me a part # 215846602. Physically looks the same but says it's an 8 hr 30 min timer. Will this work for my freezer or will it cause more problems, possibly damaging it?

Basically, this means that with a defrost cycle more often, it is more possible to have freezer burn and possible food loss due to improper temperatures inside the unit. 1 Answer Yolanda, If the compressor is not running then you will want to check to make sure that there is 120 vac going to the compressor relay. If there is then the relay will most likely be faulty. If there is not then either the defrost timer would be the issue. Typically when the defrost timer is not working the fan will also not be running inside the unit.
