John M January 04, 2015 for Model Number FFU14FC4AW0 This freezer has the compressor running, the floor stays cold enough to freeze items at that level, but anything on the upper shelves thaws out. The evaporator fan does not run but has continuity through the motor, as well as the defrost thermostat and heater. When first noticed, at disassembly there was ice accumulation under the coil and frozen through the drain, which looks like the defrost cycle has run, possibly excessively. The thermostat control seems to be turning on and off as you can hear the compressor kick on and off. Any suggestions as to what to look at next.
1 Answer John, You will want to test the power coming to the evaporator fan motor and see if there is 120 vac to it. If there is then the motor is bad and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Tim December 17, 2014 for Model Number MFU20F36W9 My freezer runs and continually blows cold air, but does not freeze.

Ilija November 26, 2014 for Model Number F22CWF4 The defrost timer is working but defrosting once in 12 hours is not enough, so I have to manualy defrost every week. I want to increase the defrost time and the numbers of cycles. Do you have diferent defrost timers for this freezer to chose? Thanks
1 Answer Hello Ilija. Once every 12 hours is enough to keep the unit defrosted unless a gasket is leaking and letting in warm air. If your having to manually defrost the unit, either the heater, thermostat, or timer is bad on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Mike June 25, 2014 for Model Number Frigidaire Commercial Series FCGM201RFB HI there, my fridge uses this timer for a defrost mode. Could you confirm that this timer should turn the defrost mode on every twelve hours for about 20 minutes? In my unit the defrost runs for about 12 hours and shuts off for about 20 minutes when the timer clicks and then on again after 20 minutes I suspect my unit is wired wrong or is there perhaps a N/C version of this switch when I should have the N/O?? PS - this is not the compressor running, you can hear that kick on/off normally but there's an almost constant fan/humming sound which I'm assuming is the defrost mode
1 Answer Hello Mike. Part number 5304518034 is a 12hr run timer. It's keeping track of how long your compressor stays on, once it reaches 12hrs it will turn it on a defrost cycle. On average the defrost cycle is from 25-35 mins, hope this helps. Thanks! Read More...
Lee June 05, 2014 for Model Number 2539284212 The fan on my upright freezer shuts off. Is the defrost timer the only thing controlling this?
1 Answer Hello Lee. No, the cold control powers the fan as well. Test and see if there is power to the fan motor. If so, and it does not run, replace the fan motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Ron May 27, 2014 for Model Number ffu12f2hw7 Does the timer rotate? My freezer runs all the time and never shuts off. Its cold but does not freeze. I looked at the timer dial but it never moves. That's why I think its bad.
1 Answer Hello Ron. The timer does rotate, but it is extremely slow and you will not be able to watch it turn. It sounds like you may have a sealed system issue, and not a timer issue. Read More...
