Ken K. May 06, 2012 for Model Number gfc520f My disposal hums but does not turn. Is there a way I can turn the blades manually or how else can I get it to work?
1 Answer Hello Ken, Most disposals have a hex headed tool that comes with it when new. There is a hex fitting in the center of the unit on the bottom. It is actually the end of the motor shaft. This should never be tampered with while power is available to the disposer. If the motor starts spinning with the wrench in place it can seriously injure you or anyone in the room. This is used to turn the motor and blade assembly and is commonly used to remove silverware, bones, etc., from the blade assembly. Read More...

Anthony Thomason December 30, 2011 for Model Number GFC530F I'm looking for an antique copper flange for my disposal. I have changed my kitchen and need a different color sink flange. I live in Panama City Fl. Please help. I can not seem to locate one.
1 Answer Anthony, It is highly unlikely you will find what you're looking for. Disposal sink flanges are made of stainless steel, due to the weight and the longevity and safety needed for the disposal operation. Your only options would be to contact the dealer where you purchased the sink, or the sink manufacturer, and have them get you a refference or contact number, where a different colored sink flange can be purchased. Sorry, Thanks and Good Luck Read More...
