1 Answer Hello Joe. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the temp control WR9X569 is bad and will need to be replaced. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Barry, If the food is only freezing in the crisper drawers and near the bottom of the unit, the issue is most likely the temperature setting. Refrigeration is backwards so think of it this way. Cold air is heavier than warm air. If the fans are not running, the cold air will equalize at the bottom of the unit. This will make the items in the bottom of the unit freeze on the fresh food side and the top of the unit will warm up on the freezer side causing slow or some times no ice production. The cure for this is to set the fresh food side to a colder setting which will make the unit kick the fans on more often and circulate the air inside the unit. If this is still too cold, try setting the freezer a number warmer. Read More...
Jacob July 13, 2013 for Model Number 363.59522996 I've checked the continuity on the defrost control timer (WR9X489). There is continuity between 2 & 3 in the defrost mode. There is continuity between 3 & 4 at every other position on the dial. An earlier post mentioned that there should always be continuity between 1 & 3, my defrost control timer never has continuity between 1 & 3. Can you tell me if this defrost control timer is operating correctly?
1 Answer Jacob, The terminals 1 and 3 are for the timer motor and if the timer is not advancing and you have no continuity on these terminals then the timer is faulty and would need to be replaced. Read More...
David J. July 04, 2013 for Model Number GE TFX22PPBEWW Where is the defrost timer located on this refrigerator?

Mom June 26, 2013 for Model Number TFX25JR The freezer of my GE side-by-side fridge seems to go into defrost mode and food & packages form ice crystals as if beginning to thaw and then refreezing.
1 Answer Mom, It sounds like the defrost timer may be sticking during the defrost or the fan operating during the defrost. This would be caused by a faulty defrost timer WR9X489. Read More...
Bob June 09, 2013 for Model Number TFX26PPDA Side-by-side R/F - Freezer section working normal, all fans normal/coils clean. Refrigerator side sitting at 60 F.????
1 Answer Bob, You will want to check the damper door to make sure that it is open. It sounds like the damper WR9X522 is not opening and would need to be replaced. Read More...
Sam May 17, 2013 for Model Number GE TFX26ZPDAA I noticed the back wall of the freezer is covered in ice/frost and the fridge is not cooling... I took off the back panel in the freezer and found a snow like frost on the bottom half of the evaporator kit... I'm planning to check the defrost timer thermostat and heater when i get home... Do you know which of these 3 will most likely be the culprit? and which replacement part numbers I will need for my unit? GE TFX26ZPDAA
1 Answer Hello Sam. If it was just the bottom, and there was no frost on the top of the evaporator, you have a sealed system issue, and not a defrost issue. You will need an HVAC tech to repair the unit. Read More...
Priti April 11, 2013 for Model Number GE TFX22CRXOHW The coils behind the back panel of the freezer are frozen and covered in a block of frost. How do I decide if I have faulty Defrost timer or defrost thermostat or the defrost heater. Is there a way to check defrost timer to eliminate possibilities. Thanks!
1 Answer Priti, You will want to do a continuity test on the defrost thermostat and defrost heater. If either do not have continuity then you would need to replace that component. If they do have continuity then you would need to replace the timer. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Kurt March 31, 2013 for Model Number TFX25PRYD WW My freezer forms ice and snow under the ice maker bucket and on back of freezer wall. Which part(s) do I need and where are the parts located? Thank you
1 Answer Kurt, You will want to check to make sure that the dispenser ice door is closing all the way. If the door is not closing all the way then it will cause the unit to form frost under the ice bin and cause excess frost on the rear wall of unit. Read More...
Tom March 14, 2013 for Model Number Csx22grxd. Ww I have a Hotpoint refrigerator that runs constantly. I have recently installed a new defrost kit with thermostat, defrost timer, run capacitor, main thermostat for refrigerator. the model number is CSX22GRXDWW. The temperature in the freezer is minus 10, and refrigerator fluids freeze. What is the problem?
1 Answer Hello Tom, You have either installed a bad temperature control WR9X569, (new parts can be bad since they are man made) or the temperature controls sensing bulb has been mis-routed and it is not sensing the temperature properly. Read More...
