For Ge Dryer Timer Knob Assembly (Part Number: OEM11985273)

Samantha for Model Number Dwxr463eg6www

My dryer timer knob just glides around and won't click causing my dryer not to work. My knob just comes right off. I just tried signle knob and moved to silent and caused all knobs to come off with touch of my pinky. Only timer knob has d shape plastic piece sticking out of control panel. Others have a whole and I heard a noise as if screw fell into panel. Also it looks a little corroded around where the knobs where. Hope I am explaining my problem enough for you to help. I am clueless.

Jimmy, If the knob is just spinning and not catching then it sounds like the issue would be that the timer gear is stripped and timer would need to be replaced.

Barb, The timer knob is not what is actually pulling out to start. The timer is what would pull out and if it is stuck where it will not pull out then you would need to replace the timer.

The knob on my dryer was cracked on the inside of the shaft and would no longer turn. I ordered the Dryer Timer Knob Assembly (WE1M654) and installed it flat side to flat side. The knob turns with no problem as long as you turn it manually to the desired position but the knob does not turn at all while the dryer is running causing the dryer to not turn off by itself. To turn the dryer off I have to either open the dryer door or turn the knob manually to the off position.
