Tim February 10, 2013 for Model Number JB710S0H1SS My problem started with the oven. I turned the oven on to preheat. Oven reached desired temperature like normal. Then oven started making a clicking sound and all the lights and clock blinking. This happens every time the oven is turned on now. This also happens when a burner is turned on the stove top. Is this something that can be fixed? If so, does the fix require a repairman? Some of the other posts I read here lead me to think the problem may be the control board. Thank you for any help you can provide.
1 Answer Hello Tim, Based on information it sounds like the control board is faulty. When the control board is having heat on it the relays are clicking and which is causing lights and clock to blink. The control board [AP2362445] will need to be replaced. Read More...
Sean January 31, 2013 for Model Number JBP78WY2WW My troubles started with the lower baking element not working, the broiler would work, and the range top would as well. I ordered a new lower element, and installed it, but it did not work and now I have noticed that the range no longer works nor does the broiler. I have ohm tested both the lower baking elements, the new and the old and the tested good. Not sure what to trouble shoot from hear, any help would be greatly appreciated. Sure if this has any bearing but this is a glass top oven/range. Thank you in advance for any assistance.
1 Answer Hello Sean, You will want to do a voltage check at the control board to make sure that you are getting power to elements. If you check from L1 to bake with unit set for bake you should have 240vac. If you check from L1 to Broil with set to broil you will also have 240vac. If you do not have 240vac on either test then you need to replace the main control board. You will also want to check the terminal block across L1 to L2 to make sure that you have 240 volts. You can test each leg by checking L1 to ground and L2 to ground. There should be 120 vac on each of these legs. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Joe November 17, 2012 for Model Number jbp78wob4ww or jbp78wb4ww I changed the baking element - failed to unplug and shorted the oven. Checked every breaker and still no power to the oven. Do I need a new electronic controller? Thanks.
1 Answer Hello Joe, If you do not have a display on the clock then the control board has failed. If you have display then you will want to check to make sure that you have 240 vac to L1 and bake and also L1 and broil with unit off. If there is not 240 vac present then you are loosing one side of your power supply. You would then want to check all your wiring to ensure that there is no broken or damaged wires. If there is 240vac to the control board but oven still will not turn on then you need new control board.WB27X10311 You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
