Linda October 19, 2017 I have an old Hotpoint oven approx 45 years old. The heating element is going bad. Everywhere I search, a model # is needed to replace. All I have is a catalog# RB747002WH, and a serial# HN214871D. Can you please tell me what part # I need for a new element? Please and thanks.
1 Answer Linda, For the information you supplied, the bake element should be part number WB44X5043 / WB44X5043, which is in stock and available, the broil element should be WB44X5045 / WB44X5045, unfortunately, the broil element is no longer available from the manufacturer. Read More...
Anthony December 08, 2016 In response to the info you requested. The oven is a Hotpoint which is over 50 years old. The serial number is worn off. The numbers on the element are WB44X142. I previously gave WB44X144 in error. It also shows VOLTS 208-236. And there are also numbers 2330-8000. There are three prongs.
1 Answer Anthony, Based off that part number the element that comes up as being the current part number would be WB44X5043. Read More...
Anthony December 06, 2016 Anthony here again. Just for your information. I got a WB44X5043 to replace an old WB44X144. It does not work. The element is smaller. The prongs do not line up with the socket. The Hotpoint oven is over 50 years old. It is in very good shape except for this element. Hate to have to buy a new oven. Isn't there some place that I can get a WB44X144 three pronged element?
1 Answer Hello Anthony. Please provide your model number so we can do some research on the element. Thank you. Read More...
Anthony November 07, 2016 I have an old Hotpoint oven. The bottom element is out. The part number is WB44x142. It is being replaced by WB44x5043. My original has 3 prongs. Part WB44x5043 has 2 prongs. Is it safe to use the element with 2 prongs? Is there a fire hazard etc? Also, my element just slides into the element socket. The element does not have to be attached to wires. Does the WB44x5043 have prongs that are firm and just slide into the socket or does it have prongs that are loose and need to be attached to wires? Note: the oven model number has been worn off.
1 Answer Anthony, This element will work and has wires that are attached to it. You would just need to attach 2 of the wires to one of the terminals. Read More...
