The Fill Cap Assembly is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. This assembly includes the cap that covers the opening where rinse aid or other additives are poured into the dishwasher. It ensures that the additives are securely contained and properly dispensed during the wash cycles, contributing to effective cleaning and drying.

Over time, the fill cap assembly can become damaged due to regular use, exposure to cleaning agents, or accidental mishandling. A compromised fill cap can lead to leaks or improper dispensing of rinse aid, affecting the dishwasher's performance.

Symptoms of a bad fill cap assembly include:

  • Rinse aid or additives leaking from the dispenser
  • The cap not securing properly or coming off easily
  • Improper dispensing of rinse aid
  • Visible cracks or damage to the cap

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Jun, You will want to open the pump and make sure that there is no debris collected in the pump or the sump that could cause this issue to occur. Also check the spray arms to make sure that they are not clogged up or have debris in them. You would also want to replace the door if it is missing as this can cause some issue since the detergent is being added at the prewash instead of the main wash.

Phillip, You did remember to transfer the timer cam WD16X10007 from the original timer to the replacement timer, correct ? and it is installed on the timer shaft properly. This is the mechanism that activates the lever that locks and unlocks the detergent cup and rinse dispenser. If the cam is missing, or installed wrong, the mechanism won't operate.

Carr, You will want to check your spray arms for being clogged or cracked which will cause a wave action when spinning causing water to come out of the door. The fill cap is for the rinse aid dispenser and normally will not leak unless there is a crack in the rinse dispenser.

Hello Nick, The dispenser latch is the part that holds the cover until the unit calls for the unit to open. The deflector should be in place but should not have any bearing on the door staying closed.

Joe for Model Number HDA3200F00WW

The dishwasher is leaking from the bottom of the door. So far I’ve adjusted the door latch and replaced the following: 1 of AP2038876 (WD08X10015) - Gasket insert 1 of AP3798079 (WD08X10057) - Dishwasher door gasket 1 of AP2038860 (WD8X228) - Tub corner baffle 1 of AP2038859 (WD8X227) - Tub corner baffle It still leaks. I just noticed that it is missing the fill cap (AP4390010). Could that contribute to the leak? I don’t see anything to screw the cap into (no visible threads). Any thoughts on the cause of the leak? Also none of the parts replaced were difficult to install are there any particular things I need to look for in the installation of those parts? Your help is greatly appreciated

Twen for Model Number GE Triton Profile Performance Dishwasher

Was visiting a friend's vacation home, rinse aid cap melted in bottom of dishwasher. Don't have model number or year of manufacture. Style similar to the one on this page (Item Number: AP4390010), but instead of a lip around top, there's a solid surface ring with the words "JET-DRY DISPENSER" around upper and "PRESS TO CHECK" below. There is a translucent silicon insert in the ring, presumably to be able to see if there's still rinse agent in tank. Thanks for your help!

Hello Twen! To verify if the manufacturer offers the fill cap separate from the dispenser we will need the appliance model number. If you can obtain this information please repost for further assistance. Thanks.
