Jun March 27, 2014 for Model Number GSD5500G00WW My dishwasher can't 100% clean the dishes. there is always some tiny black dirt attached on some dishes/glasses, but majority are clean. I wonder if it is because this cap is missing? Thanks!
1 Answer Jun, You will want to open the pump and make sure that there is no debris collected in the pump or the sump that could cause this issue to occur. Also check the spray arms to make sure that they are not clogged up or have debris in them. You would also want to replace the door if it is missing as this can cause some issue since the detergent is being added at the prewash instead of the main wash. Read More...
Philip October 20, 2013 for Model Number gsc3200 I replaced the timer today only to find out that when I re-assembled the inside panel, the detergent cup filler cap will not lock into place. The spring is doing it's job but am I supposed to hold the cap shut when putting the panel back, and ,if so, how do you line it up with the arm? Thanks - Philip
1 Answer Phillip, You did remember to transfer the timer cam WD16X10007 from the original timer to the replacement timer, correct ? and it is installed on the timer shaft properly. This is the mechanism that activates the lever that locks and unlocks the detergent cup and rinse dispenser. If the cam is missing, or installed wrong, the mechanism won't operate. Read More...

Ron M/ May 30, 2013 for Model Number GE Nautilus Dishwasher Model GSD4260 Is Jet Dry Fill Cap (AP4390010) supposed to have an O-ring or gasket?
Carr J April 01, 2013 for Model Number GSD 640L-02WB Dishwasher is leaking from bottom of door, but gasket is ok. The fill cap is missing, however. Is that the probable cause of the leak? Also, what is the fill cap for?
1 Answer Carr, You will want to check your spray arms for being clogged or cracked which will cause a wave action when spinning causing water to come out of the door. The fill cap is for the rinse aid dispenser and normally will not leak unless there is a crack in the rinse dispenser. Read More...
Nick January 11, 2013 for Model Number GSD1100G02 The Detergent Cup Cover no longer stays closed. The spring always snaps the cover to the open position. Whatever is supposed to keep the cover closed until the proper time in the wash cycle dosen't work. What needs to be replaced?
1 Answer Hello Nick, The dispenser latch is the part that holds the cover until the unit calls for the unit to open. The deflector should be in place but should not have any bearing on the door staying closed. Read More...
Alison W. September 23, 2012 for Model Number GSD5320D00BB GE Profile Tritron Hi, our cap seems to be eroded at the bottom, and therefore no longer screws in securely. I'm pretty sure this part AP4390010 is what we need, but the picture here does not match ours: the picture shows "cascade" on it, and ours says "jet dry dispenser". Will part number AP4390010 still fit and work accurately, or do I need to find something different?
1 Answer Hello Alison! Yes, the fill cap asm WD12X10284 is the manufacturer replacement and will work on your GE dishwasher model GSD5320D00BB. Thanks! Read More...

Joe June 27, 2012 for Model Number HDA3200F00WW The dishwasher is leaking from the bottom of the door. So far I’ve adjusted the door latch and replaced the following: 1 of AP2038876 (WD08X10015) - Gasket insert 1 of AP3798079 (WD08X10057) - Dishwasher door gasket 1 of AP2038860 (WD8X228) - Tub corner baffle 1 of AP2038859 (WD8X227) - Tub corner baffle It still leaks. I just noticed that it is missing the fill cap (AP4390010). Could that contribute to the leak? I don’t see anything to screw the cap into (no visible threads). Any thoughts on the cause of the leak? Also none of the parts replaced were difficult to install are there any particular things I need to look for in the installation of those parts? Your help is greatly appreciated
1 Answer Hello Joe. Yes, if the resivor is leaking, and the cap is missing, it can cause the issue with the leak. You need to install the cap WD12X10284 on the unit. Read More...
Twen June 18, 2012 for Model Number GE Triton Profile Performance Dishwasher Was visiting a friend's vacation home, rinse aid cap melted in bottom of dishwasher. Don't have model number or year of manufacture. Style similar to the one on this page (Item Number: AP4390010), but instead of a lip around top, there's a solid surface ring with the words "JET-DRY DISPENSER" around upper and "PRESS TO CHECK" below. There is a translucent silicon insert in the ring, presumably to be able to see if there's still rinse agent in tank. Thanks for your help!
1 Answer Hello Twen! To verify if the manufacturer offers the fill cap separate from the dispenser we will need the appliance model number. If you can obtain this information please repost for further assistance. Thanks. Read More...
