Kshowde388 January 29, 2012 for Model Number DDSR475ET4WW I have this GE Electric Dryer: Model # DDSR475ET4WW . This dryer is from around the 1997 timeframe. Works great otherwise. So far I"ve only had to replace the Green colored bearing slides. The high heat cycle seems to not be heating correctly. I can dry load of clothes on the medium (permanent press cycle) but when trying to use the High Heat Cottons cycle it seems to not work properly. I've cleaned all of the lint out of the ducts etc. but still performs the same. I can hold the door switch down watch it run and can see the glow of the heating element th back when on the medium setting. I switch it to cottons, high heat and the heating elements start to glow then after a very short period, say 10-15 seconds they shut off. Looks like a thermostat issue but I'm questioniong why would it continue to run on medium if it were a thermostat issue? Could be one of the heating coils? Any help is appreciated! Kevin January 01, 2012 for Model Number DHDSR46EE1WW Hello, my dryer does not appear to be heating at a high enough output. I pulled the unit out of the area it was in and the floor was soaking wet. That is not an exageration. While cleaning all of the lint out I noticed that it was also drenched. I cleaned everything I could get my hands or a shopvac into. Any ideas what happened and is it fixed now that I cleaned it?
1 Answer Hello Kevin. If the dryer is in a room where it is really cold, you are dealing with condensation in the dryer. You will need to move the dryer to where the dryer vent can get plenty of sun light to dry the moisture inside the unit after a drying cycle. Hope this helps. Read More...
Bridget D. September 14, 2011 for Model Number dbxr453evoww My dryer will not get hot to dry my clothes. Could you please tell me what is wrong?
1 Answer Hello Bridget. Check and make sure you have 240 volts coming to the dryer. Check and make sure the unit is not set to Air Fluff. Also check the heater WE11M23 and thermal fuses WE4M160 WE4M137 and see if they are good. You can test these with a multi-meter MA-DM1. They should read closed for continuity. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

Pat L August 10, 2011 for Model Number DBXR453ET3WW GE Dryer Dryer would work properly and then fail to heat. I pulled plug when it seemed extremely hot to the touch when not running at all. I replaced thermostat, cleaned out venting system and cleaned interior when opened and gave it a try. Still not heating, just gets warm. Next?
1 Answer Hi Pat. Your heating element probably shorted to ground causing low amount of heat. This part # is WE11M23. Did you change the cycling thermostat? If not then you will need to change it as it will get shorted terminals and cause a high heat runnaway. This part # is WE4M156. Thank you. Read More...
