For Ge Heating Element (Part Number: OEM21557775)

Ursula, You will want to test to see if the heater is getting 120 vac to it. If the heater is not working it will cause a drying issue. If there is no voltage to the heater then check the thermostat and if it is ok then this issue will be a faulty control board.

Chuck, The part number that would need to be replaced will be the Thermal cutoff for the heater and the only way to get it will be to get the pump kit WD49X23779.

Hello Barbette, The high limit TCO is located on the bottom right side of the tub, about 15 inches from the front of the tub. It is secured with a clip that is spot welded to the tub. It is a manual reset design which can be reset for testing. If found tripped, the thermistor should be checked. If the thermistor is within specifications, the main control WD21X24899 should be replaced. Test specifications are 120Vac supplied to the heater. The heater should read 18 ohms wet and 23.4 ohms dry. Current draw should be 6.7 amps wet and 5.125 amps dry. The tub TCO has a trip temperature of 180°F +/- 8°.

Am for Model Number GDT720SGF0BB

The water in our dishwasher is not heating and therefore the dishes are not getting clean. We have replaced the heating element and that did not seem to do anything. I was thinking of replacing the thermostat as the next option, but I cannot find the right one on your website (I can't find my model number at all on your website, even when I ordered the new heating element. I"m not sure how I found that). If the thermostat is the next best option, which one should I order. If that is not the next best option, what should I do? Thanks, AM

Hello AM. If the thermostat is bad you will need to order and install WD49X23782 into the unit. If it is good, then the control board will need to be replaced. Thanks.

Hello Will. You need to test and see where your losing voltage at during the element test mode. Sounds like a wiring issue.
