Jim June 06, 2016 for Model Number IM6D Unit view is rectangular plastic cover showing ELECTRONIC ICE MAKER before the on-off switch. Cover's bottom is detached by pushing in tab. Top, however, with U-shaped opening will not detach with any pushing down or in. This prevents replacement of washers or adjustment of flow.
1 Answer Jim, The u-shaped piece at the top of the icemaker cover lifts up using a flat blade screwdriver and there will be a screw on the back side that allows you to pull the cover off. Once the cover is off then you can adjust the water level. When installing the icemaker you should not need to make any adjustments as it is factory set. Read More...
Anne May 30, 2016 for Model Number GDE21DMKES Does the IM6D fit model GDE21DMKES? Specs don't indicate add on ice maker option. Thanks
1 Answer Hello Anne, I'm sorry but this unit appears to be Canadian. We are unable to pull a parts list for these units. You can check with an import dealership for the correct part number for the add on icemaker kit and check back with our site to see if we have it available but we unfortunately have no way to look this up for you. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...

Lonbenson January 25, 2016 for Model Number Ice Maker IM6D What water pressure does the IM6D require to operate properly. I have mine connected to my RO system
1 Answer Lon, Like most water inlet valves, in most machines the minimum PSI is 20 and the maximum is 120 PSI. However, things do change depending on the configuration of the refrigerator. If your refrigerator has a built in water filter system and/or a water dispenser, then the recommended minimum water supply pressure changes to 32 to 35 PSI minimum, and constant to properly fill and operate all the water associated options. The "issue" with an "RO" system is the fluctuations in the supply pressure and loss of pressure in the tank, when it reverses and flushes itself. This process can cause air in the system, loss of pressure, causing the valves to fluctuate and the ice maker and dispenser to operate erratically. Depending on the brand and model refrigerator, you will want to remove the filter, install the bypass plug(if needed) and a "check valve" or pump on the water supply line to the refrigerator to reduce the pressure fluctuations( see your "RO" system installer/manufacturer). You can also "bypass" the "RO" system and install a separate water line to the refrigerator. Read More...
Bruce October 24, 2015 for Model Number IM6 Hello, I installed one of your IM6D kits a few years ago. Recently, the fill tube fell off, causing some leaks. I got the fill tube back on, but then the ice mold was either overfilling (at first) or now underfilling, but otherwise cubes seem to be working properly. 1) Is this a thermistor or water valve problem; 2) will the phillips screw on the side (connected to the rod) with a +/- adjustment do anything to fix this? Hard to find info on this maker. Thanks!
1 Answer Bruce, This issue would most likely not be caused by a faulty icemaker but would be a water valve issue. Check the fill tube for icing up and if it is then the water valve is sticking open slightly causing the unit to overfill when you first reinstalled the fill tube but now the fill tube is most likely getting iced up and not allowing enough water in. This will in turn possibly cause the fill tube to pop loose again. The water valve part number is WR57X10033. Read More...
William September 22, 2015 for Model Number GTS18SBMCRBS I was told I need an IM6 ice maker kit for this fridge. Is there any difference between that and the IM6D or are they essentially the same? Thanks!
John September 19, 2015 for Model Number GTH21KBWBB The manual suggests either IM4A or IM6 ice makers. Both are discontinued. What ice maker should I use now?
1 Answer Hello John, You will need to order IM6D. In some cases you will need to order the adapter plug WR29X10049. Read More...
Richard September 10, 2015 for Model Number GTE21GTHCC Will be buying a new refrigerator as referenced below. Currently have a ice maker kit which is a UK-KIT-2 bought 5 years ago for a GE-TBX20DG refrigerator. Will this older ice maker work on the new refrigerator? Looks like it should.
1 Answer Hello Richard, Since the UKKIT2 icemaker kit has been discontinued by the manufacturer, I could pull no information on it. As long as the icemaker will plug into the jack and the fill tube sits properly over the fill flume it should work even though the IM4D icemaker kit is recommended by the manufacturer. Read More...
