Tj February 12, 2017 My GE Profile bottom freezer fridge that did not come with an ice maker has a sticker that says it needs a IM4a ice maker but I can not find those anywhere. Is there a replacement model? Thanks,
Cathy November 08, 2016 for Model Number GTS18EBRERWW I purchased an IM-6 icemaker accessory kit for this model approximately 18 months ago. Recently, I noticed water coming through the floor in the basement, and upon moving the fridge notice the hose clamp had come off.... I unplugged the unit, cleaned the lines put it back together and replaced the clamp... In the first few days, the line between the back of the fridge and the fill tube seemed to be freezing...so I unplugged the fridge and left it to competely thaw before trying again... Now, everytime the unit calls to "fill" with water...it forces the water tube inlet away from the fridge...and water sprays all over... Help...what can I do to fix this? The unit had been working perfectly fine up to this point. Thank you
1 Answer Cathy, you'll need to make a few checks and replace the water inlet fill valve WR57X10033 / WR57X10033. Frozen fill tubes are usually due to water "seeping" through the fill valve and setting in the tube and freezing. This could be due to a clogged water filter or low water pressure to the fill valve. Check the water supply tube for twists and kinks as well. Then check and make sure both the freezer and refrigerator doors close and seal properly and the freezer temperature isn't too low(0-5 dgrs.F. is the reccomendation) Read More...
Brad October 27, 2016 I recently installed an IM-6D replacement kit. The volume of ice cubes is minimal and the ice cubes it does make are inconsistent. Some are full cubes some are hollow. Help!
1 Answer Hello Brad. You need to check the temp. It is too cold. Has to be 0 to 5°. Otherwise you will get bad cubes. Read More...

John September 10, 2016 for Model Number Im6d ice maker switch Can you buy just the little plastic switch for on off?
1 Answer Hello John, I'm sorry but there are no individual parts available from the manufacturer on this design. The only way it can be serviced is by replacing the icemaker assembly IM6D. If the harness is needed it is WR29X10049. Read More...
Chris C September 08, 2016 for Model Number GTH18CBC2RBB I bought a IM4D ice maker + Install Kit from HD. It works, but very slowly maybe 15 cubes per day. The ice is clear, frozen solid, and large, but just very few. I called customer service and they say I need IM6D. They say the IM4D won't work at all, which it definitely does and all stores carry it. Any help?
1 Answer Hello Chris. You will need to check and make sure the temp in the unit is correct. It should be 0 to 5° for the icemaker to work properly. Read More...
