Louise September 18, 2016 Just had new ice maker installed, by professional appliance repair man the ice maker has been installed for 8 days and I had to buy ice. only drops a few cubes at time and they are quite small. What can I do to correct this?
1 Answer Louise, With the cubes being small, this would be a indication of slow water flow. If your unit has a water filter in it then you will want to make sure that the filter is good. If it is not then it will cause lower water flow at the dispenser and at the icemaker. Read More...
Robert September 18, 2016 for Model Number GSL25JFPBBS What causes the ice bucket to overflow in the back.
1 Answer Robert, This would be caused by the feeler arm on the icemaker not shutting the icemaker off when the bin is full and will cause this issue to occur. Would suggest installing a redesigned feeler arm on the icemaker to correct. The part number for the redesigned arm is WR49X10103. Read More...
Freezebob September 12, 2016 for Model Number PDS22MISBWW On our Bottom Freezer GE Refrigerator, we have our icemaker. In the icemaker unit there is what looks like a plastic flap/cover that has 7 tines. I think they just guide the ice as the ice is pushed out of the individual tray holes. Well, I noticed it was askew and one of the tine broke off. Does this mean the unit needs to be replaced (at $130+), or since it doesn't seem to impact the actual ice creation, I can just keep using the current unit?
1 Answer Freezebob, It would be suggested to replace the icemaker even though this does not seem to affect the ice production. The reason would be that these are guides and the ice could turn and get jammed in the icemaker and cause the icemaker to fail. Read More...
Steven K September 05, 2016 for Model Number GSS22JETEWW I recently purchased and installed a WR30X10093 ice maker. It was working for a few weeks but now seems to have stopped. When inspecting the plug, in the freezer, it appears that it is not seated properly and is loose. The question is what is the best way to get this to seat? there is not much room for my hand to fit between the ice maker and the auger motor. I have tried pushing it, but it seems that the upper side is not going in and clipping into place. I would appreciate any assistance.
1 Answer Hello Steven. Remove the icemaker from the unit and unplug the harness. Then re-plug the harness before installing the icemaker. Make sure it locks into place. Then install the icemaker. Read More...
Vicki C. September 03, 2016 for Model Number CSCP5UGXAFSS If my ice maker is putting ice out very slow and hardly at all, do I need to replace the water valve or the whole icemaker?
1 Answer Hello Vicki, If the freezer compartment is maintaining a temperature of 0° to 10°F, the icemaker assembly WR30X10093 will require replacement. Read More...
Dee Dee September 03, 2016 The plastic tube that empties the water into the ice maker freezes after about the second time it makes ice. Then it causes the water line on the back of the refrigerator/freezer come out of the socket it fits into. Thank you for your help
1 Answer Dee Dee, The issue of the fill tube freezing would be caused by a water valve that is letting water seep through and you would need to replace the water valve. Read More...
Don W September 02, 2016 for Model Number GE GSL25JGDB LS Just replaced icemaker. Makes ice, but appears too much water in tray. Cubes are hard to break apart - thick ice connects them. Ice forms on outside of ice maker. It melts during cube dump and ends up in bin, freezing all into solid block. Is this an adjustment on ice maker or is water valve bad? Original icemaker stopped working long time ago, but seems one of the symptoms may have been a huge block of ice around icemaker and bin.
1 Answer Hello Don. It sounds like the water valve is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...

Eddie August 27, 2016 for Model Number PFSS2MIXASS My ice maker makes some ice but freezes in large blocks. Seems to leak water into the ice bin.
1 Answer Eddie, You will want to pull the icemaker and check the coating on the icemaker to make sure that the coating is not coming off. If it is then this would cause leaking of the icemaker and the icemaker would need replaced. Read More...
Steven K August 13, 2016 for Model Number GSS22JETEWW I ordered a replacement Ice Maker for my GE Sided by Side, after installing the new one, my plug appeared to not seat all the way. My question is this. after inserting the plug and turning on the ice maker should there be a light indicating system is operational or do I just wait to see if it makes ice? It does appear very difficult for me to insert the plug all the way and have the clips connect. Almost as thought the plug inserts are just a few millimeters too long.
1 Answer Hello Steven. There is no light on this one. You will need to wait and see if it makes some ice for you. You can force cycle it by unplugging the fridge. Then plug it is and push in the ice level arm 5 times within 30 seconds. Read More...
