Ed P. July 19, 2016 for Model Number PSF26NGPBWW Ice maker has stopped making ice, water and ice dispenser work, just no ice. Green light not blinking, no water in ice maker tray. When the water solenoid cycles,( 7to9 seconds) it blows the water supply tube at the top rear of the refrigerator completely out. Replace the tube back into the opening, as soon as it cycles, it blows the tube back out. Water filter has been replaced, nothing seems to be frozen and the supply line has sufficient pressure. Do I need a new ice maker?, and what holds the feed line in place on back of the refrigerator?
1 Answer Hello Ed, This sounds like the fill tube between the icemaker supply line and icemaker has frozen up. This was caused by a failing water valve but is normally not visible since the ice in the fill tube will be clear. You can locate the ice by inserting a straw into the fill tube from the inside, (icemaker side). It can usually be cleared by heating the fill tube with a hair dryer. The fill tube is usually affixed to the grommet at the factory and does not require much holding pressure since this should only divert water flow and is not designed to hold pressure applied whith the grommet frozen up. Bruce July 13, 2016 for Model Number GTH18HCT2RCC I have a non-working ice maker installed in a GE fridge. I bought and installed a water line with pierce fitting and attached it to the inlet valve. There is water to there. I then replaced the inlet valve and I still am not getting water to the ice maker on top. Is there a reset button of some sort that I need to push? I have removed the front cover of the ice maker on top and marked the gears to see if they are moving and they are not. Thanks for your input. Bruce
1 Answer Bruce, This issue would be caused by a faulty icemaker WR30X10093 and there is no reset button on it. Read More...
Dave July 07, 2016 for Model Number TFS26PPDABS Hi, my ice maker was not working for a few days so when I looked at I noticed the fill tube was frozen. I pulled the tube out from the back of the fridge and got the ice out and replaced it. The ice maker did a rotation when I put the arm down but I did not hear any water coming up to the unit. The next morning I checked it and I have mini cubes. I did not touch the fill adjustment. Is it the valve at the bottom of the unit or could the icemaker be faulty? I do not have the maker that allows you to jumper it to get the valve open.
1 Answer Hello Dave. It sounds like the valve is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Lisa July 06, 2016 for Model Number TFX20JRBKWW Just replaced the ice maker because the old one had water pouring out of it. Now the newly installed ice maker is doing the same thing. 1 Answer Hello Lisa. It sounds like your water valve WR57X10051 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Brian July 03, 2016 for Model Number WR30X10093 With this ice maker, It is only putting in about half the amount of water in the ice tray, then it will not dispense the ice. Not sure if the ice maker actually controls the signal to the water valve. I have plenty of water coming out the water dispenser and I just change the water filter. Do I need a new ice maker and/or a new valve. The water valve only turns on for about 1-2 seconds.
1 Answer Hello Brian, The icemaker not filling completely is normally an issue with the water valve. The icemaker also sounds like it has an issue and I would replace both at the same time to prevent a bad component from damaging the other. We can provide part numbers if you could please repost and include the model number from the units' I.D. tag. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Ron H. June 27, 2016 for Model Number tfx22pme I replaced my original ice maker with new WR30X10061 a few years ago. I had to use the old stripper plate as per instructions, now stripper plate has broken all fingers off. If I order a new ice maker, what do I use for a stripper plate or can I order just a stripper plate?
