1 Answer

JM, This icemaker does not have a water level adjustment to it. If the unit is not getting enough water then check to make sure that the water filter is good and that the water pressure is adequate.

After replacing the freezer fan on my fridge, I find that the icemaker has stopped working. I checked the power at the harness and the white and black wires show 120 V. The blades are stopped at the bottom of the mold and there is frost on the bottom. I am wondering if the icemaker is at fault or the board is not telling the heater to turn on. Is that how it works? I do not have a wiring diagram. The icemaker dispensed the last batch of ice but has not called again for water. TY Deb

Hello Deborah. Make sure the temp in the freezer is 0 to 5°. If so, replace the icemaker on the unit.

Hello Renee. You need to check and see if the flap is closing in the dispenser. If not, then the solenoid or the flap may be bad and need to be replaced on the unit.

Our GE PRofile side by side is 19 years old. The icemaker stopped working so we had it replaced. Now the ice forms but does not drop down the chute because the ice sometimes is formed in 2 or 2 pieces and the auger does not allow it to go down. I was just informed that the old part is no longer being made and was non-ectronic but the replacement is electronic. The unit is in excellent condition despite its age and we use the ice maker a great deal. Why should we have to invest in an expensive new unit when this should work. Boo to GE

1 Answer

Phil, Unfortunately GE changed the design of the icemaker and it is the only style that they use now. Because it is part electronic there is no type of adjustment for the water fill. The only thing that you could try would be to reduce the flow of water to the unit itself by turning the water supply down to not allow it to fill so much.

Hello Carolyn. You will need to use the arm on the new icemaker. You do not swap out the arms on the icemakers. Thanks.
