Olayinka Onadeko for Model Number ESS25LGPACC

Thank you for responding to my previous question. Now the water is dispensing. The tubing in the back of the unit was blocked. The problem now is the ice dispenser. It seems the ice dispenser works but the ice will not completely come out through the chute. About 2 cubes of ice may dispense, but the rest blocks the flap from closing up. As a result, the ice freezes over again allowing air to enter and ice frost forms in the dispenser. Please advise on a corrective action. Thanks

Olayinka, First check the size of the ice cubes, the cubes should measure less than one(1) inch in the center of the crescent(usually 3/4 to 7/8 inch is average). Remove the ice bin and check the front housing trap door. make sure it opens completely. Oversized cubes or a sticky trap door could create the issues you described. Make sure the end of the bin shifter arm is installed in the solenoid yoke properly.

Hello! For new icemaker installations you would have needed to install the correct icemaker add on kit. If you installed part number IM6D or the original IM6 icemaker install kit. The valve is part number WR57X10033. Thanks!

Olayinka, With both the ice and water not working for your unit, the most likely cause for failure would be a bad dispenser board or a bad main control board. You can test to see if there is return voltage back to the main control from the dispenser when pushing the lever. It would most likely be the dispenser board that is the issue.

Hello John. Test for power to the water valve. If there is power there, and no water out of the valve, replace the valve. If there is water coming out of the bottom of the freezer door, but not the dispenser, then the water line in the door is frozen and will need to be thawed out. If so, you will need to install the dispenser water tube heater WR49X10173 for the unit.

Craig for Model Number Mod: TFX28PBDAWW Ser: MZ278483

I have a GE S/S refrigerator freezer, 24CF & OVR. It is not letting water into the ice maker but the water dispenser in the door works fine. The water line for the door came off and I reconnected it and it is working good. I checked you tube and most of the info says the ice maker motor has stopped working. Before I order this I'd like to make sure it isn't a solenoid in the back that allows the water to flow into the ice maker or is it the ice maker motor? Model No. TFX28PBDA WW, serial no. MZ278483.

Hello Craig. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
